question

Will VF-1 viewfinder work with Sony HX50V?
Asked by: Anonymous
I don't think this would be suitable for this camera. The camera has a quite wide zoom range and the viewfinder is only for a fixed field. Most of the time what you would see would not be what the camera is seeing.

question

Is this compatible with Ricoh GR cameras ?
Asked by: Anonymous
It looks like it would be good. The Ricoh has a flash show to attach ithe viewfinder and also has a pop-up flash so you'd still have flash when using this viewfinder and the coverage seems about right for the Ricoh's lens. The big advantage of one of these things, as you probably know, is that you don't have to set up your picture with the screen on the back of the camera. The optical viewfinder is nice and bright, it's way better than using the screen., I'm happy with mine.

question

is the Olympus VF1 optical viewfinder compatible with Fuji XA-1?

This Olympus VF-1 Viewfinder is dedicated for the 17mm Micro Four Thirds pancake lens and will not be compatible with other combinations. Unfortunately, there are no viewfinders currently available for the Fujifilm XA-1.

question

Will the VF-1 viewfinder work with a canon eos-M body?
Asked by: Anonymous
This is an optical viewfinder, which fits on a camera's hot shoe. It can be used on the EOS M camera. The field of view of this finder is 17mm on a Micro 4/3rds format, which is roughly equivalent to 35mm (34mm) on a 35mm/Full-frame format. With that said the finder would only be useful at 22mm focal. If you're using the zoom lens this will not be useful for most of its range.

question

The Olympus website seems to indicate this would work with the E-PM2. Is that your understanding? If so, is there anything special you have to do to use it other than connecting the viewfinder? I have both the 14-42 mm lens and the ED40-150mm lens. Is it the case that this would work with the former, but not the latter?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Olympus VF-1 would be compatible with the E-PM2. Though, it will only approximate the angle of view of a 17mm focal length, so might not be overly useful with your two lenses. You would really only get a sense of what was in the frame when shooting the 14-42mm lens at or around 17mm.
