Wein 940-060 reviews

Micro Ultra Slave (Household, 400' Range) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This does what it says it does! I have a small studio with Speedatrons and soft boxes. I've used the Speedotron Optical slave tripper for years, but it needs line of sight, and this creates a problem for me, even in a small studio. I bought the Wein Micro Ultra Slave with a 400' range, and NO MATTER WHERE I AM IN THE STUDIO, IT NEVER FAILS TO TRIGGER MY SPEEDATRONS, even when I just plug it into the unit. Now, I don't have to use a long cord and place the slave in line of sight! I haven't used it in bright sunlight yet, but I am sure it'll work just like they say it will. I'd recommend this unit for anyone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money on radio slaves. I give this a 5 thumbs up!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wein slave This wein slave is great. I have been using Wein products along with other slaves for 30 years. This slave is simple. Plug it in and it does what it susposed to do fire the flash when it sees a signal from other flashes. I use it in my studio and is attached to a Lumedyne head for a background light and hair light. I was going to buy a Profoto air Transeiver, but for this low cost it does the same thing, fire the flash. It plugs right into my Lumedyne head so no cords required, but if I need to use it with another flash that doesn't have the H prong end, it has a terminal that sticks out to accept a sync cord.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Micro Ultra Slave I am not a wedding photographer, I shoot video and commercial photography. When I went to the hotel to see what I was up against. I new I would need multiple strobes for a long and winding staircase, so I got two Micro Ultra Slaves and no problems, worked perfectly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Frills, Works Very Well I bought this to trigger an ancient 1970's vintage Sunpack potato-masher portable strobe I still use to light backgrounds and dark corners in studio and architectural settings. This old thing still works fine in 'manual' mode and it was my first 'big strobe' so I've kept it. The XL8 makes it even easier to use eliminating the cord to the other optical slave I was using. It works fine even when the strobe is 'facing away' from the other strobes in use so it's perfect for my application. It's simple, sensitive and solidly built. I haven't used it in outdoor or high ambient light situations where almost all opitcal slaves suffer but that's why my main gear is radio triggered. If this thing can see any kind of direct or reflected flash under normal room lighting it will fire every time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product at a Great Price! I needed this to transition my Q-Flash to a cordless Hair light. It works like a charm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job well I use it to trigger an old Sunpak potato masher. I've been using it outdoors for over a month and a half and the ambient light hasn't caused a misfire yet. Haven't checked range yet, however, so can't vouch for that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, works perfectly I ordered this slave to trigger a second Speedotron power pack and I couldn't be happier. My studio area is not that large and this slave fires every time. Ironically enough, it replaces a Speedotron slave that wouldn't trigger at all in the same space. Go figure.
