    0HD-20TC-EX1 2X Teleconverter Lens is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must have out to 500yds!!! Purchased this lens prior to a Coues deer hunt in Mexico. The effective range for an EX1 in a hunting situation is about 300yds for a normal sized whitetail to be seen effectively. Coues deer are much smaller and I was picking them up effectively out to about 500yds. MUST HAVE for those needing long range video. Cons: HEAVY! The extra weight added to your camera will affect the way you move. Make sure your head can handle the extra weight and do not walk with this lens attached!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great glass! I shoot a lot of news with my PMW EX3 and the biggest drawback has always been the lack of zoom when you are kept far away from something you want to see. This product solves that issue beautifully! Quality glass and it does not eat light as I feared it might. Crisp image and a true 2X addition to the standard zoom lens. I use a15mm rod support, along with my mattebox to keep the lens weight from damaging the camera. As mentioned in another review...I do not recommend running around with this lens on the camera because I don't see anyway for the front lens mount alone to withstand a lot of stress. But, I tend to be overcautious with my equipment since I need to make a living with it. Yes, this add-on has a heavy vignette when you pull wide. In fact, forget about doing long slow zooms from very tight to very wide. It is not going to happen. You can get a little zoom wiggle room...but not much. Frankly I don't do a lot of zooms because they take too much time. What does not take too much time is putting this lens on the camera. It goes on very fast. It is VERY heavy and you will only want to use it when you have the camera on a tripod or braced well on something like a steady bag. The image quality lived up to my hopes. Great color with a crisp image...and that's what counts with me! I know longer have to worry when I get stuck way back on a riser during a presidential visit thinking I am stuck with a wide shot at best. This gives me the closer image I've been wanting for a very long time. The only reason I gave this product 4 stars instead of 5 is the vignette issue but if need close from very far away...this is the answer to your prayers. Just remember your tripod!
