Will this filter screw onto the front of a Nikon ...

Will this filter screw onto the front of a Nikon 200-400mm f/4G AF-S VR II (in order to protect the front of the lens)?
Asked by: Robert
B&H Staff, I agree that the Nikon 200-400mm f/4G AF-S VR II accepts a 52mm drop-in filter (near the back of the lens). However, my question is about obtaining a replacement of the front lens protective glass. Page 28 of the Users Manual for this lens reads as follows: Lens Protective Glass - This lens is available with a lens protective glass attached. Keeping this glass on the lens is recommended at all times. If the picture you want to take includes a bright light source, removing this glass may reduce ghost images. To detach the glass, unscrew by rotating the rubber ring around the glass. Store the glass in the dedicated protective glass case provided. Given your response, it appears that you are not aware of this lens protective glass for this lens, so I assume you dont carry the part. Thanks

A haze filter blocks UV light, more important for film photography but not so much for digital sensors.

What is the difference between the B+W 82mm Clear MRC 007M Filter and the B+W 82mm XS-Pro Clear MRC-Nano 007 Filter?
Asked by: Eric
The XS-Pro filters are narrower, so you should not have interference on wider angle lenses while not compromising any features or performance of the standard MRC coated filters.

question

Will this cause vignetting on a Zeiss Loxia 25mm lens, or should I purchase the thinner version?
Asked by: Brian
At 25mm, a normal ring thickness filter will not vignette on a full frame sensor. You are go to go.

question

Has anyone used this filter on the Irix 15mm lens, and does it cause any vignetting?
Asked by: Todd K.
Yes, the filter ring is too thick and will cause vignetting on such an ultra wide lens such as the Irix 15mm. Please use this version instead to decrease the likelihood of any vignetting: BWCXSP95
