    RSH10 Shelf for R8, R10 and R12 is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great addition to the MultiCart This piece fits just fine, you just have to adjust the 12 bolts on the underside of the shelf while the cart it on its side. Mine came with instructions, but it seems some have not. Lay the cart on its side. Assemble the shelf and place it on the cart with the end pieces facing the ground. Loosen the bolts a bit on the underside of the shelf. Alight the two steel runners so they line up with the handles of the cart. Insert the bolts and wingnuts through the runners and shelf handles. Retighten the bolts under the shelf. Mark one side of your assembly (the shelf's ends and cart handle) with some tape so you know which side you've now adjusted the shelf for as it may not fit perfectly the other way. The cart allows me to carry more gear and then set up a workstation on top once at a shoot. If you leave it assembled in your studio, you can use it as a spare shelf when the cart isn't needed in the field.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not so easy to break down or set up If you're using your MultiCart in a studio, or in a situation where you don't have to break it down and travel somewhere, this shelf can come in pretty handy. You'll still get a substantial amount of payload on your cart under it (I can fit 6 milk crates and a couple of Pelican 1560s in there, and still have some room for some sandbags or other small items to jam in the crevices), and you'll add either a work table or more room to stack things. I haven't really pushed the limit of how much weight the shelf can handle, but I trust it can handle the 150 pounds claimed in the literature. The downside of this shelf is that it doesn't set up or break down at all easily. The description says that it folds to a smaller size. It doesn't have any hinges on it, though. It just comes apart into two separate pieces. If you want to reconfigure the shelf for the smaller size, there are a couple of extra pieces you have to add on (and which you could potentially lose). All of that is okay...it's not that hard to deal with. The thing that really kinda sucks is just mounting the shelf on the cart. There are four U-brackets, one at each of the ends of the two support rods that have to hook around the handles on your cart. While holding the shelf in place, you need to put a wing nut through the holes in each U-bracket and the corresponding holes in the cart handles. I did it by myself, but it was quite a pain--it's really a two person job. It's certainly not the sort of thing I would want to go through every time I showed up to a new location to shoot. Breaking down is a little less of a pain, but not much. As a final downside, the four pairs of wingnuts and wingbolts for attaching the shelf to the cart are just more items that could easily be lost. With the loss of just one, the shelf would be out of action until you could get a replacement. I think for people who intend to set up their cart once and just roll it around their studio from then on, the shelf is a great idea. If you're driving to several locations and have to fold this thing up in the back of your SUV 3 times a day, you're probably better off without it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good addition for transporting and showing products This top for our R12 MultiCart was a great addition. We can now transport more products to our vendor events, and can use it as a display for the individual items once our booth is set up. It is also strong. I actually laid on the top shelf when we assembled it, and it held me up just fine (not recommended that you try this). The only negative is that it really takes two people to set it up. The holes that it attaches to in the cart frame aren't all drilled well. This can remedied by redrilling the holes, but it should have been done correctly the first time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Digital Techs! I use this when I digital tech for photographers or on my own photoshoots. It's nice to have when you're already carrying in cases, stands, and your computer and then having a shelf. I have used magliners in the past but after a few days of loading in and out of buildings, the weight is a big difference using the MultiCart with this shelf. It can certainly hold up a 27 iMac screen as well as a laptop, a few cameras, external hard drives, call sheets and more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor design - disapointed. I researched this shelf before purchasing. Read the reviews and watched the YouTube video showing how to modify the shelf for easier attachment. So I knew what I was getting into when I purchased it. That's why I'm giving it a 3-star and not a 1-star rating. There's really nothing special about the shelf. And I learned for myself that the other reviewers were correct. I love my R12 cart. I expected something better in the shelf. It can take you 5 - 10 minutes to assemble and attach the shelf - especially if you're using the grip bag that hangs over the handles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shelf should come with a mallet This shelf, once attached, really seems sturdy. Probably don't want to sit on it put adding a computer, external drive and even a monitor on level ground should work well. The problem is the attachement. The holes barely align with the ones in the cart handle - giant pain. I needed to use a mallet to get the last on through. Quality control on this thing is terrible as all the holes are just off a bit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Possibly more trouble than it's worth I can't understand why they wouldn't make it so the shelf could collapse into itself when going from a long cart to a short cart. The transition from going from a long shelf to a short shelf is a ridiculous tedious process. Very poor design

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality control, but no choice. Well, obviously if you need this, you have a multicart, and wish you could make it a table for laptop/gear/etc. Other than making some custom rig, this if your only option. That said, I have a R12 model, which this is supposed to fit. The brackets DO NOT FIT the handle bars for mounting! It's about 3/4 inch too wide, which makes putting the bolts/wingnuts through a very difficult task. I 'made it fit', but squeezing the two together with huge pliers, and tightening it down. I really think it's a quality control issue, because the whole thing looks pretty shabbily constructed. The carpeting is stapled in a jaggy rough line around the bottom, with some pieces kinda poking out just waiting to catch fabric or something. It was very dirty, needing lots of lint rolling just to get clean. The two pieces (one for condensed cart use, then adding #2 for full length use), do NOT even line up properly, they are slightly off. Only by a little.. but still pretty annoying. Bolted down tight, yep, it works like a shelf! Just expect it to be a pain. I could see keeping track of the hardware (extra bracket, two piece table, all the bolts/nuts) could get tedious to tote around or not lose.
