    Marshall Electronics AR-AM1 reviews

AR-AM1 1-Channel Analog Audio Monitor is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap Components As is typial with many Marshall products, the components inside don't last. We had 6 of these units and all had to have major repairwork for the same in-warranty issue. Now just a few years after those repairs, they are starting to exhibit the same symptoms--faint audio or obnoxious squeals tones, etc.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TERRIBLE PRODUCT TERRIBLE PRICE wanted a way to monitor a portable live recording setup ... quality was not a high priority, but WOW, the quality of these speakers is REALLY TERRIBLE. and the gain is really LOW, and there is quite alot of NOISE. (and absolutely no bass below 30k. considering that the unit costs over $$ it should really sound alot better.. i have $10 computer speakers that do a much better job, but i thought i'd be slick and get everything rackmounted.BIG MISTAKE. sent the item back to B&H. it was just too awful. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap parts Cheap parts. Unit started squealing loudly so I opened it up to take a look. The ceramic resistor pictured below is rated 5W 30ohms but tests out at 42ohms. Way out of tolerance. I'll try to replace it but who know how much damage was done downstream.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Don't buy this one. We have 4-5 or these and only two are still functioning. The DSP board dies, the pots won't stand up to everyday use, the amplifiers quit working and you can blow the cheap 2 watt speakers with the internal amp. Even with in house repairs, we only got about two years out of them before we had to toss several. If you are running a broadcasting facility, buy a good quality audio monitor. AMP2A-10S (Refurbished) can be had for only a little more money than this Marshall.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible monitor - Great tone generator This monitor lasted roughly one year in the rack before dying a very obnoxious death announced by an ear-splitting squeal. When I called Marshall, I was guided via the menu to the broadcast technical support option which somehow sent me right back to the main menu. I like Marshall products, but I'm not the first to have this issue with this audio monitor. Buy something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value! I use this with a Marshall monitor for a CG. The monitor does not have speakers and I need to preview audio before the mixer, this worked out great with out costing 3 or 4 X for the other brands out there.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great speaker, modest volume A good speaker for production use. Depending on the source and the environment, the overall volume limit is sometimes too low.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice QC for the money This is actually a 2 channel unit. Marshal provides lots of cables with the unit for easy installation.
