Epson V600 Overview

The Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner is the solution for converting 35mm and medium-format slides, film, and prints into high-resolution digital files. The unit has a built-in Transparency Unit which allows scanning of four 35mm mounted slides, or 12 negatives. It handles medium format film up to 6 x 22cm, plus photos and documents up to 8.5 x 11.7". This energy-efficient scanner has Epson's ReadyScan LED technology which enables the unit to operate without having to warm-up prior to use, with faster scans and lower power consumption.

The Perfection V600 has four customizable buttons to make scanning, copying, creating e-mail attachments and PDF files quick and easy. In order to create the most clean and accurate digital output, it comes with a comprehensive software package, including DIGITAL ICE technology for dust and scratch removal, ArcSoft PhotoStudio for image enhancement, and Easy Photo Fix for restoration of faded images.

Extraordinary Enlargements from Film
The V600 scans prints, 35mm film and slides, plus medium format film up to 6 x 22cm at 6400 x 9600 dpi resolution for enlargements up to 17 x 22".
Remove Dust and Scratches from Film
The appearance of dust and scratches from film is eliminated with the included Digital Ice for Film software.
Remove Appearance of Tears and Creases from Photos
By using the included DIGITAL ICE technology for Prints software, tears or creases in photos can be eliminated.
One-Touch Photo Restoration
With Epson's Easy Photo Fix software (included) you can restore faded color photos with one touch of a button.
No Warm-up Time
Achieve greater productivity with the Perfection V600 via its energy-efficient ReadyScan LED light source which allows operation with no warm-up time, and faster scans. Plus, it enables the unit to operate with lower power consumption.
Convert Documents into Editable Text
You can convert scanned documents into editable text with the included ABBYY FineReader Sprint Plus OCR software.

    Since this scanner doesn't work in Indian power conditions of 220v, can you please share an alternative scanner that would come close to the Epson Perfection V600, in terms of quality and price?Thank you

    The time may vary depending on your computer and various settings in the software but I timed 31sec for a color photo 8x10 scan at 300dpi with no features turned such as no unsharp mask, no dust correction and no descreening.

    Does this scanner work with all versions of MACs ...

    Does this scanner work with all versions of MACs or is there a version it does not work with. My current version is High Sierra 10.13.6 on a mac mini (late 2014)? may upgrade later.

    I am trying to decide what scanner would be best for me and this one seems to have everything I need. I will be scanning 35mm negs and slides, but the bulk of what I want to scan are glass plate negatives. the vast majority of them are in the 4x6 range. Is the transparency window on this scanner large enough to handle these?

    Unfortunately, the transparency window would not be large enough for this. You could go with the Epson Perfection V750-M Pro Scanner (B&H # EPPV750M), though.

    Will this scanner, scan slides full frame? We have tried other brands and found they crop a little from all sides. If this doesn't scan the full frame, can you recommend a model that does?Thank you.

    Will this scanner work with windows 11?

    Will this scanner work with windows 11?

    I bought the V600 on the understanding that it would work with Windows 11. However, this is not the case. I downloaded and installed the software/driver recommended by Epson, but the scanner will not communicate with my computer. The computer recognizes the device, and indicates the device is working correctly. But, for whatever reason, when I run the Epson Scan software, I get the error message "Cannot communicate with the scanner." I have spent the best part of a day trying to figure out how to make this work, but with no success.
