Pyle Pro PMX402M overview

  • 1Description

The PMX402M from Pyle-Pro is the combination of a mixer and a power amplifier with a convenient USB 2.0 input. You can plug multiple sound sources into it (such as microphones, instruments, music players, hard drives, and flash drives), and the PMX402M will amplify them with its 400 watt power amplifier. With the addition of a pair of passive PA speakers, the PMX402M makes for a nice PA for musicians, small clubs, and any situation that requires a small sound system. The inclusion of the USB 2.0 input and LCD display makes it easy to play sound files from external storage devices.

The rear of the PMX402M features 1/4" output jacks to connect passive PA speakers. The stereo RCA outputs can be used to connect to a recording device, or you can send your mix to another amplifier or a powered speaker. Each channel on the PMX402M has its own volume and EQ controls, and a 5-band graphic equalizer is included on the master output. A built-in effects processor is included, and each channel has its own effect level knob. The PMX402M is a budget-friendly option for anyone in need of a powered mixer with USB connectivity for their PA system.

    Pyle Pro PMX402M reviews

    PMX402M - 400 Watt 4-Channel Powered PA Mixer/Amplifier is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two Failures in Two Years System had noise in it from day one. I thought it was our building's AC, but no, it's just noisy everywhere I go. After several months of use, the unit failed in mid production use. The output IC was replaced and a jack was repaired by manufacturer's repair company(out sourced company) via warranty. Unit came back, with less noise. Mixer is now two years old and failed again during performance. Smoke emited from the vents. Hopefully, warranty will stand up, but now cannot trust to use during a performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Inexpensive and works For the price, this is a good value. I have had it a week, and have only tested it. Sound is fine for general PA work. Includes MP3 player. To keep the price point, the manufacturer used inexpensive connectors -- for example the XLR3 female balanced mic inputs lack a spring latch lock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Affordable With Plenty of Power My other pa head was in a case in storage when lightning struck our house. It destroyed the pa head although it wasn't plugged into anything. I bought this one just to see if the rest of my system was okay. I paid $ more than the current price. I was amazed at its power and features for such a good price. I would have paid a technician that or more to look at my other amplifier. A super deal at this current price indeed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective from day one I purchased this unit new. After about 10 minutes of operation the sound cut out, then came back on but was totally distorted, constantly cutting in and out. AFter testing different cables, 3 keyboards, and 2 speakers, the problem was with the unit. The distributor told me to contact the mfg, which I did and so far they (mfgr) would NOT refund it. Only fix it. VERY RUDE CSR!!! I am awaiting email from the mfgr.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Far So Good Have had this for two weeks and it does exactly what I need it to do. Bought for an electronic drum set. You can't beat the price. The USB and SD card inputs are great. Put a bunch of music on a memory stick and I just play along. Only 4 stars because the fan is a little loud,(but when your banging on drums to music you don't hear it) thought it had headphone capability, (not) and the manual is not so good.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nice Features, but poor quality The intended use was as a small PA and background music system via the USB. After about an hour of use the volume dropped to barely audible. Adjusting the knobs brought it crashing back, but it continued to drop out unexpectedly. I needed to return it, so ended up losing the shipping cost. I would not recommend Pyle...stick to better know brands...Yamaha, Mackie,...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it says it will do This pushed two 8 ohm monitors with no problem. We used the RCA input for an ipod connection and a 1/4 input for a karaoke machine. You can also connect a USB flash drive and pull music from there, but it appears the songs must be .mp3, not mp4, and it won't read an ipod through the USB connection, just a flash drive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little PA Mixer/Amp I use the PMX402M in my practice room. It powers four mics through two 8 ohm speaker columns containing six eight inch speakers each. Once or twice a week some friends and I gather to jam and play the old stuff we used to do. I set the volumes, tones, equalizer and effects once and it works beautifully.
