The Singh-Ray LB Neutral Circular Polarizer Filter helps to reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface. This results in a noticeable increase in the saturation of skies and foliage, as well as clearer imagery when photographing in hazy conditions. A circular polarizer differs from a linear polarizer in that it supports full use of a camera's autofocus and auto exposure functions.

The LB designation of this filter stands for "Lighter, Brighter", which refers to the lower optical density of the filter that enables shorter shutter speeds or smaller f/stops to be used when the filter is in place. The brighter design of the filter also enables a brighter viewfinder image to aid in composition as well as improves auto exposure and focusing performance.

This filter features an 84mm-diameter sprocket mount for use with Cokin P filter holders. This design allows you to insert the filter in the slot closest to the lens for minimizing the amount of light between the filter and lens. The sprocket itself is constructed from plastic, while the 72mm-diameter filter substrate is constructed from highly polished glass.

Reduce reflections and glare by filtering out light that has become polarized due to reflection from a non-metallic surface.
Arrange and filter directionally polarized light perpendicularly to the reflected light allowing for the absorption of much of the light.
Lessens haze in distant landscapes and provides more saturated, vivid colors.
Strongest effect when used at a 90° from the sun.
"Lighter, Brighter" design enables shorter shutter speeds or smaller apertures to be used compared to other circular polarizer filters.
Neutral tone helps to maintain color fidelity for a natural rendering of colors and tones.
84mm-diameter sprocket mount is designed for use with Cokin P filter holders and enables use of other rectangular filters within the same holder.
Constructed from highly-polished glass to provide high image quality and clarity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleased, but not wowed I've gotten good results with this polarizing filter but I'm not sure if it's any better (or even as good) as the screw-in high-end CP that I use that cost about the same. I need to take it out a little more but so far I'm pleased with it but not completely wowed with it. It's a bit hard to use with the Cokin-P triple filter holder, as the gear ring is a bit stiff and awkward to access. If the shot you want to get requires a CP by itself without a rectangular solid ND or grad ND, I wouldn't recommend using this filter if you already have a good CP filter. The polarization effect just doesn't seem as good as some good screw-in CPs I've used. But if the shot requires you to use a polarizer with other rectangular solid or grad filters in the holder, it's the best way to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Polarizer As a landscape photographer this filter lives on my camera. I get great blues in my photos from using this filter. In the past I have used other brands of screw on filters and it is nice to only have to worry about one filter for all my lenses. Works perfectly with my Cokin P filter holder. The only complaint I have about this filter is the price. It is a bit expensive when compared with other brands but the performance really shines in comparison.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This one filter fits all my lenses! I bought into the Cokin-P specifically so I could cut down on the number of filters I'd need with my various lenses. Since I switched systems recently with a bunch of new glass, this strategy worked out just fine. A recent trip to the Olympic National Park and Forest saw me using it quite often to bring out the blues in the sky (and again to suppress reflections in the rain). Highly recommended.
