Concert Lighting from Focal Press is a comprehensive, in-depth guide on lighting design for concerts. The majority of this edition is targeted toward the rock and roll world but it has definite applications in the film and theater industries as well. The book takes its reader on tour, covering every aspect of that experience from the perspective of the professional lighting technician and designer. Discussions of applications in film, video, the theater, and the corporate world demonstrate the ways in which today's lighting designers can cross over into other design areas.

Covering topics like computer-aided drafting, moving lights, lighting consoles, concert techniques in television production, and featuring designs by some of the top concert designers in the industry, Concert Lighting is designed to assist students and professionals in understanding the unique fixtures, structures, special effects and design elements used in concert lighting today.

About the Authors: James Moody is Head of the Technical Theater Program, Technical Director, and Lighting Designer for the Theater Academy at Los Angeles City College. He has designed lighting for over 300 productions, and has been recognized with two Emmy nominations and one team award. Jim's work has been presented with several theater design awards including the Drama Logue Award and a Los Angeles Theater Critics Award.

Paul Dexter has worked in lighting for over 30 years; touring with Rick James, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, and Elton John among others. He collaborated with artist Hiro Yamagata for the outstanding and lauded $3M art installation in New York City and contributed to Sci-Fi Channel's Comic Con Exhibit, which received the 2006 Gold Award from Exhibitor Magazine. Paul is president of Masterworks Design Inc., and most recently was production and lighting designer on REO Speedwagon's world tour.
