    Induro BHD1 Reviews

BHD1 Ballhead is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Ball Head This ball head is very stable, has easy to use controls and there are two things I love about it. The ball head actually has two control knobs which gives a great deal of control. I bought it primarily to shoot video with the D3s and I can very the friction on the head movement using the two knobs which I find useful. The other control I like is the base swivel. I can move the base in a full arc without affecting the position of the other parts of the ball head. The detachable mounting plate is a good item but not great. It requires a tool to tighten the thread mount but they do supply a tool. A small key works ok too and I always have it with me. This would get 5 stars if this one item were a bit easier to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Ballhead I purchased this ballhead to be paired with my Induro tripod. I needed a ballhead that was light weight and still able to support a Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 70-300mm lens. This ballhead is great. I would have loved to have given it 5 stars, but when extended to 300 mm there is a slight bit of creep when tightening down. When used with a 24-70 or 17-40 this ballhead is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality head - Reasonalby priced I am using this head along with the Really Right Stuff TP-243 Ground Pod for photographing wildlife. The head is solid and easily holds my D3s and long lenses. The panning is smooth and the oversized knobs make for easy adjustments.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Design flaws I purchased this ballhead based on the reviews here and I must say I am disappointed. The ballhead has two major flaws: 1. There is a slight shift when tightening the ball. Very annoying when trying to get a precise frame (e.g. close-ups or telephoto work). 2. The friction control knob cannot be set on a locked value, which completely defeats the purpose of being able to preset the friction based on camera/lens weight. Had I known this before I would not have bothered and just got an Arca Swiss Z1.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works It's light, easy to use, and seems to be quality. It will work for now. It will hold all the weight I need it to, but next time I will buy the one a few models up as well as a tripod that is a little bigger. This one though will hold about 26lbs and that is enough for me to use with my D700 and basic 24-70 and 80-200 lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just as good as the $$$$ heads for $$! I've used RRS, Kirk, Arca-Swiss, etc. ballheads in the past and have been extremely pleased with this Induro! Very smooth ballhead movement with excellent controls. Panning action is liquid smooth. Locks down with very little force applied to the control knobs and doesn't move under the weight of a heavy camera and lens. Arca-Swiss mount is very well made and feels as secure as a tank. No worries about a lens accidentally falling off once secured. Also, control of the quick release clamp is smooth and does not require lots of force to tighten securely.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improved weight! I'm using this ball head along with my new Carbon 8X CT014 Tripod by Induro. Due to having MS I need lightweight, but very steady equipment. Both of these pieces work wonderfully for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from solid ballhead I purchased this ballhead for my new Induro tripod. It is very easy to adjust, and keeps my camera securely. I upgraded from an older pan head tripod. This is an incredible improvement.
