Sidebar to the first question: I don't have an Induro tripod. So this would not fit another brand, or would it?
Asked by: Daniel
I have used this head on two different tripod legs. Neither of them were Induro brand. The first was an old Bogen. And lately I am using the BHD3 on a large Robust tripod. As long as the thread sizes match on both the legs and the head, it will work.

The overview description of this product says it fits a "size 3" tripod. What is a size 3 tripod? Thanks for any help.
Asked by: Matthew
As long as the thread size on both the legs and the head are the same you can use any tripod head with any legs. But, some heads are physically larger and can carry more weight. For instance, a set of legs that can support 50 lbs needs a head that can support at least the same weight. Therefore, larger heads are meant to be used with larger legs to support more camera weight. It is important to know the total weight of your camera body and largest lens. If that total weight is, say, 12 pounds, I usually purchase both tripod legs and head that support at least twice that weight to make sure it is sturdy.
