  • 1Description

The MC Color from Euphonix is a color grading surface that offers detailed control of Media Composer, Symphony, Color, Smoke for Mac, STORM, or REDCINE-X software. The slim-line controller attaches to a Mac or Windows computer via Ethernet, and features high-resolution optical trackballs, track wheels, displays, encoders and a host of programmable keys to speed up and enhance the Apple Color workflow.

The ergonomically designed control surface attaches to a computer via Ethernet, and can be used as a standalone color grader, or together with other Euphonix media controllers to build a larger, integrated video editing control surface. The MC Color's compact design is portable enough for use in on-set grading.

Detailed Features

Comprehensive Control
  • MC Color offers 3 high-resolution optical trackballs and track wheels, as well as 6 touch-sensitive rotary encoders, to adjust multiple Color parameters simultaneously
  • These controls automatically change their function as you navigate between the rooms in Color, controlling everything from color values and contrast sliders to vignette parameters and pan and scan position
  • 6 reset buttons allow you to quickly reset parameter values modified by the trackballs and track wheels, while pressing the knob top resets encoder parameters, and 6 high-resolution OLED displays provide you with detailed feedback of parameter names, values and much more
  • The Bank 1 and Bank 2 Keys let you switch assignment of these controls between different parameters within the same room in Color to give you even more hands-on control without your hands ever leaving the surface
  • MC Color also features 8 dedicated Copy and Paste Grade Keys that allow you to quickly copy and paste up to 4 different grades from one clip to another
Intuitive Navigation
  • MC Color not only provides you with high-resolution control over grading parameters, but also enables quick navigation of Color's rooms and Secondaries via the NAV Key
  • Pressing the NAV Key displays the room names across the 6 OLED displays, and you can jump to any room by simply pressing the top of the corresponding knob below each display
  • Pressing the NAV Key in conjunction with the Shift Key allows you to navigate the 6 Secondaries in the same way
  • MC Color also features dedicated transport controls for play, stop, forward, backward, next clip and previous clip for effortless navigation of your project
  • The center trackball can even be toggled on the fly to work as a mouse, with the Reset buttons functioning as left and right click
Programmable Soft Keys
  • MC Color features 9 programmable Soft Keys that automatically change their function as you navigate the various rooms in Color
  • MC Color ships with the most used functions for each room preprogrammed to these keys, but you can easily customize these keys with any function, macro or key injection command via the onscreen Soft Key Editor
  • You can press the Show Key at any time to instantly display the functionality of the Soft Keys for the current room
EuCon - High Speed Connectivity
  • EuCon is a high-speed Ethernet control protocol developed by Euphonix that Apple has natively integrated into the new Final Cut Studio, including Color 1.5, Final Cut Pro and Soundtrack Pro
  • A highly intelligent protocol that is constantly aware in which room the user is working, automatically updating MC Color's controls and displays, including the nine programmable soft keys, to present the parameters specific to the current room
  • Video and audio applications which include EuCon, HUI or Mackie Control protocol include:

    1. Color
      Final Cut Pro
      Soundtrack Pro

Multiple Applications
  • The EuCon control protocol is application aware, automatically changing the surface controls and displays to match the application in focus
  • Although MC Color has been specifically designed to control Media Composer, Symphony, Color, Smoke for Mac, STORM, or REDCINE-X, users can program its Soft Keys to control other applications like Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro and more, as well as use the center trackball as a mouse
Multiple Workstations
