Zacuto Z-BNDS overview

  • 1Description

Comprised of 4 red aluminum balls and two elastic bands, Zacuto's Z-Bands are designed as a safeguard against accidental bumping when using the Z-Finder on your digital SLR. Used in conjunction with Zacuto's mounting frame, they help keep the Z-Finder in place during handling.

Note: Z-Bands will not work with the Canon 7D, unless you have a quick release adapter beneath the camera which the bands can wrap around.

Zacuto Z-BNDS reviews

Z-Bands for the Z-Finder is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Provides Added Support These bands are intended to give added support to the Z-Finder which snaps onto a frame but can be knocked off the frame with little pressure. They work OK but on my Canon 7D, only the right band stays on - the left one will slip off because it is too thick to fit between the Mode Dial and the camera body, and the bands are not long enough to criss-cross a band from one side to the other. However, having just that one band seems to provide adequate support, so the 2nd band becomes an instant spare!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Z-bands work perfectly I knew there must have been a way to keep the viewfinder from popping off the camera body! I'm not sure why these aren't included with Z-finder to begin with but I'm glad they exist. A must have

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as intended My 5D with the aftermarket Vivitar battery grip would not allow the Z Finder to mount with the Gorilla plate. These bands along with the adhesive mount work well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from odd but required I find it odd that the Zacuto finder A: doesn't come with these in the first place and B: needs them. The are basically required as the design does not have any other method of hold the finder securely onto your camera. The Zacuto base plate is firmly fixed and could have a clip or bolt system to hold on the finder piece. The finder really should have a strap that can be attached to the camera otherwise that stops the finder from hitting the ground if it falls off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must For Using the Zacuto Z-Finder Pro These bands will ensure that the Zacuto Z-Finder Pro View Finders are securely placed against the back of the DSLR. For those using the Adhesive Frame that mounts onto the Camera's LCD screen, these bands ensure the the weight of the view finder will not pull the adhesive off, removing the frame from the camera. They can take a little more time to put in place, but given the investment in Zacuto products, they are well worthy the time. Money well spent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product! I bought this to keep the view screen of my 60D from opening when the z-Finder is attached, since the hinges on the 60D aren't too tight, that would happen frequently. Very annoying, especially when carrying the camera on strap. The bands could be a little tighter for my taste, but it works great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too short for my 1Ds I only gave 4 stars to this product because the bands are not long enough to fit my 1Ds. Zacuto should sell a longer version for tall cameras. That said, I am sure it would work well on smaller DSLRs as it seem well designed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made. Exactly what I needed I wanted to use these Bands to ensure my Zacuto Finder Pro 2.5 didn't fall off when using the adhesive mounting plate. These are exactly as advertised and work great.I did a video review of how I sued theme here:
