Offering a true barium sulphate, or baryta, coating much like traditional silver halide paper, Baryta Photographique from Canson Infinity will take your inkjet prints to the next level with an excellent black density and high sharpness, making it ideal for black & white images. Available here as a 25-pack of 17 x 22" sheets, this extra smooth satin paper utilizes a 100% alpha cellulose base with a weight of 310 gsm and a thickness of 12.2 mil, providing a hefty feel and a more rigid structure. The paper also uses a very low amount of optical brightening agents to achieve an excellent whiteness of 99.16% and it is both acid free and internally buffered to ensure a great print longevity. Additionally, it is instant drying and has a high water resistance to prevent damage during handling.

Baryta Photographique Paper (17 x 22", 25 Sheets) is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from great product, poor packaging I absolutely love this paper. The surface is beautiful and the pictures were stunning. Of the two boxes that I purchased, out of 50 sheets of paper, EVERY ONE of the 50 sheets were either bent on the corner or on an edge, most likely from rough handling of the box. The B and H packaging was quite thorough, as usual, but the box that the paper was in was obviously mishandled at some point and provided absolutely no protection to the paper that it held. Just a simple light cardboard box. They should take a lesson from Epson's boxes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful paper but damages very easily I use this paper for fine printing. I use the sheets full size so it is important to me that the sheets not be damaged on any corners. I have had trouble with very slight damage to a box of paper shipped to me. A dent, caused by something heavy placed on the corner of the box, went through about 15 out of 25 sheets. It is a tough call when I receive a box of paper with this slight damage because it is such a hassle to return the paper, and the damage is only noticeable to very observant people. So I end up using many of the less damaged sheets, but I don't feel good about it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Paper I am a fan of matte photo paper; however, it doesn't capture the detail or the dynamic range of a gloss finish. When I tried this Canson Baryta paper in my Epson 3800, I was totally impressed. It prints as a matte yet has a slight satin finish AND it captures the details that my Epson Ultrasmooth Fine Art paper misses. I will not abandon the Ultrasmooth because it is perfect for some photos. Nonetheless, when the details are especially important, this Baryta paper is perfect. I have used the Baryta paper for both B&W and color prints. It does exceptionally well on each, though the color can be too bright if you're not careful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Canson Baryta for Fine Art BW or Color I am a fine art B&W and Color, landscape-oriented photographer based in Moab, UT. Like a dwindling few of my peers I used to make prints from 4x5 BW negatives on quality papers from Ilford and Agfa. Those days are not gone, but I have almost entirely switched to digital. I currently use a Nikon D810 and occasionally 4x5 color film (Provia) that is later scanned for color or BW use. What made my transition to digital possible was finding a very few papers that met the surface texture, contrast, Dmax, weight and whiteness of the few wet darkroom, silver papers that I depended on to give me the quality I wanted. Canson Baryta Photographique is one of the papers I can count on one hand that delivers the quality of the best silver papers. It does not have the flaking problem of a few of the other primary digital papers. It's surface is smooth and the tonalities are brilliant. I heartily recommend this paper to anyone wanting to produce fine quality photographs in B&W or Color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! This is a great baryta paper and I got it substantially less than the others. A little more gloss differential than Harman, but doesn't curl like harman. Wonderful deep blacks. The canned profile for my Epson 4900 was spot on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Having tested all of the semi-gloss/luster papers from Epson and Red River, I was disappointed to see that all had the same, speckled finish. This Canson, fortunately, does not. The ink sits on the surface in a clean, non-distracting matter, and is without any of the sheen that is typical for all non-mat papers. After making my first large print my first thought was simply, 'this feels expensive'. Couldn't recommend it enough, it'll be my go-to paper until they stop making it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent right out of the box Images come out clean, and I feel as though I can reach into the photo and touch the people in it! You need to find the settings that work for you, as in all other media; but, it is not difficult to find them. This was my first use of the paper, and I will have to change a few settings, but I am definitely not disappointed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic Paper - Poor Packaging This paper is amazing with amazing d-max and dynamic range. I really love both color and B&W prints on it. The main reason I am writing this review is the poor packaging of this paper. If you see any slight damage to the outer box there is a high chance the the paper inside is damaged on the corners. This is also confirmed by other reviews written on this site. So, be sure to check out the paper when your shipment arrives.
