- Aperture Range: f/2 to f/22
- ZEISS T* Anti-Reflective Coating
- Floating Elements System
Offering a traditional wide-angle field of view with bright performance, the Nikon F-mount Distagon T* 28mm f/2 ZF.2 from ZEISS is well-suited for a range of subjects, from landscapes to street shooting. The lens uses a Distagon optical concept, which helps to reduce field curvature and distortion for high overall sharpness and accurate rendering across the frame. A T* anti-reflective coating has been applied to individual elements, too, to control lens flare and ghosting. Also contributing to high sharpness and clarity, a floating elements system is used to achieve consistent, well-controlled image quality throughout the focusing range.

question
So is this optically the same as the famous Contax Zeiss 28mm f/2 Hollywood ? If not, does anybody know how it compares?
While it is not exactly the same, it certainly is based on the renowned Distagon design of the 1980s for the Contax system. This modern Distagon T* has been optimized with current, higher performing and eco-friendly glass and incorporates a floating lens element design to optimize image quality across the entire focusing range. It will likely perform better than the original as it is a newer, more improved modern version of the 1980s edition.

question
Is this 28mm length good for portraits?
No, go for 50-135. Too wide causes unflattering distortion.

Hi Kerry,I am using the Zeiss Distagon 28mm lens for more than a year and am very satisfied with it. I am shooting in colour and not in B&W.Abraham E.

question
Does Zeiss Distagon T* 18mm f/3.5 ZF (FX)and Distagon T* 28mm f/2.0 Lens work with Canon 60D ?
The Zeiss ZF and ZF.2 lenses would have Nikons F mount. They would not be compatible with Canon DSLRs. For the Canon 60D, you would need the Zeiss ZE lenses. You can find the Canon mount 18mm and 28mm Zeiss lenses on the following link. http://bhpho.to/1eecMyY
