ZEISS Planar T* 50mm f/1.4 ZF.2 Lens for Nikon F
Key Features
  • F-Mount Lens/FX Format
  • Aperture Range: f/1.4 to f/16
  • ZEISS T* Anti-Reflective Coating
  • Manual Focus Design
A classic focal length and a classic design, the Nikon F-mount Planar T* 50mm f/1.4 ZF.2 from ZEISS is a normal-length prime ideal for working with most subjects. Its bright f/1.4 maximum aperture excels in low-light conditions and also offers greater control over depth of field for using selective focus. The Planar type optical concept is a tried-and-true design that yields consistently high sharpness throughout the focusing range with even illumination throughout the aperture range. Also, a T* anti-reflective coating has been applied to individual elements to control lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy.

Will this lens be compatible with a D500 and a Z50 (using the FTZ)?
Asked by: Edgar
Yes, it will work and you have to set the lens to f/16 to allow the camera to control the aperture. That is why f/16 on the aperture ring is orange. It will of course be manual focus.

Dows this lens work with apsc sensors?
Asked by: Gerry
Yes, the ZEISS Classic lenses will work with cameras using different sensor sizes, including APS-C. Keep in mind, the smaller APS-C sensor size has the effect of 'cropping' the image by a factor of 1.5x - 1.6x depending on the exact size of the sensor (it varies by manufacturer).
