Does not support high-speed internet trough coax

The unit degradates high-speed internet signal when connected trough coax or ethernet sockets. The coax does not support anything more than 35Mbps and ethernet could limits the speed to 100Mbps. The customer support rep reluctantly confirmed: Upon checking, this is actually expected on this kinds of unit. This is due to the surge components of the unit. You may check this FAQ for info. This FAQ is for cable but it applies the same for internet connection through coax: https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/index?page=content&id=FA158835&actp=search&viewlocale=en_US

Has a load of features (management, hot swappable batteries, etc) and provides the protection my customers require. Like that you can select what does and doesn't get power if loss of power occurs.

Always buy APC Power backups and this didn't disappoint. So far it's flawless and is a great value for the money.

We use these in our office at most of our workstations. Plenty of power & outlets for most, unless you've got a massive multimedia setup at your desk. Great looking units - the LCD display is clear and easy to read - just enough information not to overwhelm.

Affordable quality protection

These have become my standard for protecting stand-alone PCs and entertainment systems that don't justify SmartUPS-level sine-wave output. The Back-UPS Pro 700 (BR700G) has enough power reserve to handle a mid-range computer with dual monitors for over 15 minutes and an easily readable display to tell you exactly how much time is left. I've been pleasantly surprised to see that they are recognized automatically by Ubuntu Linux v20, so no extra software is required to arrange for a safe automatic shutdown. Sure there are cheaper UPSes, even from APC. But why risk it? Your hardware is an investment, protect it properly.

Okay so far

Setup went pretty smoothly which was basically getting the battery installed. I connected the data cable to my iMAC and it recognized the UPS immediately. I have not tested the UPS to be sure it will provide adequate power to allow my computer to safety shut down yet.

The APC Power-Saving Back-UPS Pro 700 (120V) BH #APBR700G would not be good for your setup. I would recommend looking into a UPS with a larger VA rating of at least 1500VA/900W. BX1500M or CP1500AVRLCD are some good options.

question

replacement battery for back-up pro 700?
Asked by: Anonymous
Shipping cost is based on weight, and batteries are not light. Look for a local source, or someone who can pick one up and haul it for you. We'd buy batteries from an electronics shop in Spenard, and someone from Valdez or Cordova, Alaska would usually pick them up for us. Much cheaper than shipping by truck and barge, as batteries are not shipped by air or the mail system.

At the front and rear of the unit there are small straight ridges running perpendicular to the length of the case that are slightly elevated, 3/16 inch.
