question

Can sliders be used at an angle or vertically on this tripod?
Asked by: M A.
I'm sure it will attach fine, but I wouldn't extend the tube past the footprint of the tripod legs.Even a hefty camera will cause tipping if you do that. Check the tripod's weight capacity and sum up your camera and slider's weight combined. Also check if the extended ends of a slider aren't past the footprint of the legs. It's a great sturdy tripod .

question

where do you find the quick release plate that screws onto your camera.. i have seemed to have lost mine?
Asked by: Candice
The QR plate does not come with the tripod but has to be purchased separately. I bought the Manfrotto 496RC2 Compact Ball Head with 200PL-14 QR Plate with this tripod and it works very well for my purposes.

question

I own this tripod and am looking for a replacement attachment plate. However, this doesn't seem to be offered as an accessory, nor are the dimensions of the plate included in your product information.
Asked by: Anonymous
The quick release plate you will need depends on the tripod head you are using. If you are using the SBH-30 ball head, you will need the QS-39 quick release plate: http://bhpho.to/1msFk20

question

I'm considering purchasing the Vanguard Alta Pro 263AT Tripod and want to also purchase a head for it. Main use is for macro photography using a Canon 7D with a few different lenses - what would you recommend?
Asked by: Anonymous
I've selected two ballhead recommendations for you to consider. The first option below features and Arca-Swiss style quick release plate which is a very popular type of plate used by many manufacturers on various grips/shoes etc. The second is a popular head from Manfrotto.
