Frame for Scrim Jim Reflector System - Large (72x72") is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good for interiors Used correctly, and indoors, the light weight and flimsy construction won't matter. My application is especially clumsy because I use two extensions, making a 72x96 or 6x8' frame. (I need a wider frame because I'm using it to hold a chromakey background and shooting two-shots in widescreen.) The metal is 3/4 square, probably aluminum, very light, which is good and bad. The pieces socket into one another with relatively little overlap and friction. You rely on whatever fabric you're using to hold it together. You have to put your cloth material on while the frame is flat on the ground, because otherwise pieces of the frame start falling apart. I reinforce the top edge with another piece of 3/4 square tubing, which allows me to use just one stand. Otherwise, sag city. Think about how you'll hold the frame up; Westcott sells a special clamp but you could also just use mafer or two.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great buy! I have used a few of these in the past, but have never owned one myself. Finally got around to purchasing one, and it is great. Super light weight and very compact. It's just not practical to carry a huge 72''x72'' scrim around in my line of work. So being able to have a small compact frame the opens up when you get on location is awesome. Also with it using removable velcro scrims you aren't locked into one scrim on set. You can have a bag full of different stops and colors for whatever the shoot needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, easy to assemble. This was very easy to put together. I'm using it to knock down the background light with a 3/4 stop black net. The size is just big enough to get me a nice bust shot (and lead room for an off camera interview) without showing the edges about 10 feet away from subject (with a 50mm lens and a super 35mm sensor). I'm still debating if I should have gotten the 96 instead of the 72. Like I said for my above use, it's a tight fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight, Durable, Quick and Easy This thing is lightweight, durable, quick and easy to setup and transport. The velcro sides ensure the fabric will adhere easily. And the square tubing, fastens securely to any U-bracket. The only thing I noticed that could use improvement, are the plastic ends that slide in and out of the tubing for connection. I can foresee them breaking down over time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buy the Frame, not the Kit The Scrim Jim is a great portable 6x6' frame. I chose to buy this frame a la cart and piece together my own kit because the Wescott rags, hardware and bag is overpriced for what it is. I went with a Mathews 6x6 griff and mini-Mathellini clamps. For diffusion I picked up some frosted shower curtain (for 1/2 soft frost)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well built frame, simple to use We purchased this to go with the green/blue Scrim Jim and were very happy with the result. This is a sturdy frame, very simple to assemble. It has velcro which the Scrim Jim Green screen attaches to very easily. Very happy with this purchase.
