    Slik Sprint II reviews

Video Sprint II Tripod is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gives u more than u could imagine. It's the travel tripod- fits right in your on flight suitcase in a niftyittle bag to keep dirt off your clothes- I used it in France for two weeks shooting lots of night shots- it's lightweight but sturdy enough for a Canon 5 D mark II with either a L series wide angle or a 70-300!lighter tele- f/4.5-5.6( not heavy like the L series 70-300 f/2.8 lens). But I had a need to travel lighter and this did great with above mentioned equipment. I added a quick release plate which makes the camera quick on and off the tripod. I mean if it was pouring down rain with wind it might be a bit light but hand your bag on it for stability. I haven't shot video with this camera but could given its a video head tripod- and at just above $bucks you can't beat it fit travel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Little Tripod The best features of this tripod are definitely the light weight and the folded length. I needed something for my first international shoot and had explored many different tripods. A friend recommended this one and it worked perfectly. I can see how their could be some instability, particularly if used outside. But I was able to attach this tripod to the outside of my backpack, which all still fit into the overhead compartment on the plane. I used this for longer interviews and it was easy to get used to.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice lightweight run & gun tripod I bought this tripod to use with my DSLR in situations where I need to pack light and travel by foot. The tripod has performed extremely well and I've even been able to get smooth pans and tilts with a little concentration and finesse. I love how light it is, it feels sturdy enough, and it looks somewhat professional. It certainly won't replace your professional fluid head tripod, but it's nice to be able to carry a tripod that is somewhat capable of pans/tilts without adding any significant weight. I have this hanging on the side of my DSLR backpack at all times.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compact and lightweight for small camera I needed a lightweight tripod with a fluid head for shooting documentary and feature video as I travel. The Video Sprint II was a perfect fit. It was easily the lightest and most compact in the category. The fluid head is good, but not great. That said, anything better was going to add pounds, not ounces to my pack. I'm getting steady, clean shots with my light weight camera. That's something to keep in mind, though. It's designed for cameras 2lbs and under. That may not sound like a lot, but it gives me what I need to mount the camera, a small external audio recorder and microphone all together.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wish I got the monopod I got the Nikon NI30X50AB Fieldscope ED50 A Spotting Scope for travel. I can hand hold it and use it quicker for birding. Tripod was OK for sea watches, but I could still be faster hand holding the ED 50 for migrating species. Lack of bend in pan handle made it cumbersome. Now, I regret I didn't get a monopod so I can get out of a van with others and quickly unfold to get on a bird. I could also use a monopod/walking stick at times. So, I spent $ on a product I won't use much. Any recomendations for a monopod/walking stick? I have a pan/tilt head, can I use that on the monopod?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good legs/tripod, not so great head Even though this is a small/inexpensive tripod I intended it for rather serious use. I bought this tripod as a lightweight alternative to my full-size tripod (photo). I found that I often didn't bring the full-size because of weight and size. I figured since I was buying another tripod I might as well have something with fluid motion for video. After purchasing this tripod and putting my DSLR on it I didn't like how the head worked for photo, takes too long/awkward to adjust precisely because it angles like a video head. And for video it didn't give me the fluid motion that a real fluid-head would. Being so-so at both photo and video but not good at either didn't appeal to me so I exchanged it for a cheaper Benro with nearly exactly the same legs but a ball type photo head, and then bought a cheap Velbon fluid head separately. Both these items cost me only 6$ more than the Sprint II. So for 6$ I get the same tripod with a much better fluid head + the ball head as an added bonus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from competant tripod/smooth head operation Very satisfied with this one. It is lightweight and compact for travelilng; yet has a great feature set. The head movement is very smooth and not at all jerky. Comes with a case so no need to buy one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally satisfactory I use this tripod with the Sony NEX-VG20. It is perfect for me. Easy to fold and unfold, very stable and not heavy if you compare with others. Small size when it is folded but when it is extended, my camera get higher than me (72). I would recommend for sure.
