Will this work with the K1000? It doesn't have a way to do stopped-down metering even with native lenses and it seems as though the adapter may be depressing a pin in the camera

question

I bought both an unused original Penac adaper for my K5II to use with tele Takumar M42 lenses but it wiggles iomce in the comera. Bought a chinese adapter, it is more stable but with rough machining. Is stil stable once in the camera mount? Or is wiggles like the knes i have.
Asked by: Sergio V.
Mounting a lens from the early days of Pentax (before the Spotmatics) the mounting flange on the lens can be too small. It may lead to a lens wiggle and some light leak through the slits in the adapter.

question

Is this a genuine Pentax adapter?
Asked by: Anonymous
I hope you get other responses. I only used it a few times and not with me now while I am travelling. It seemed to be well made and fit nice with both the old Super Takumar lens and the K5 body. I don't recall any stamps that indicated Pentax but could have been.

question

Will this adapter depress the aperture pin and allow you to do stop down metering on any M or A lens
Asked by: Harry N.
Google pentax k mount adapter m42 stop down and read the article in the Pentax Forums titled How to stop down an M42 on a K-mount camera . In a nutshell, there is no aperature link between the m42 lens and the K mount camera. You must focus (for brightest view) fully open, read the meter at wide open, stop down to the aperture you desire, calculate the speed, set it and take the picture. It's been a while but if you do a depth of field preview stopped down, that should give you your shutter speed. Anyway, it is a small price to pay to allow you to use some of the excellent old glass out there.

question

I tried out this adapter on my K3II with a Pentax Super Takumar 55mm lens (M42), and for the life of me I now cannot remove the adapter. Any tips/tricks? Thanks!
Asked by: Michael Farrell D.
With the 55 mm lens removed, one of the open slots on the adapter has a flat metal (spring) tab that needs to be compressed before removing adapter. Use a jeweler's screwdriver or something similar in size, Hope this was helpful.
