VCT-SP2BP Camcorder Shoulder Support is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 19.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great idea, bad execution! My use: Panasonic dvx100be. After about 10 weddings I've taken with this product is broken, cracks appeared in a product, and I use it now with reinforcement and glue around. My use of ordinary and not aggressive. Excellent idea but very bad stuff and not suitable for professional work! Cheap plastics and bad. sony did not take responsibility for the product

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A must have, some engineering issues After a day of handheld with my EX-1R at a family reunion, I knew I needed support for future shoots. I decided to purchase this for use at an upcoming wedding. I found this support is necessary for stabile handheld use in videography. I am a large man and find the following with EX-1R - shoulder pad does not extend far enough down my back, can't line up eye to eyecup viewfinder (works good with LCD), the front stabilizer arm will not maitain the angle as it has only a poor friction lock. The unit includes adapters for VCT-014 which I have not used, but highly recommend. Even with the above issues, the unit definately makes handheld work much better than free hand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shoulder Support I use the shoulder support when I have no time to grab the tripod, this isn't enough room for the tripod, or I have to be able to move quickly from spot to spot. While on the tripod I use the support as a handle to adjust the camera position. I can mount the camera on the shoulder support then mount the camera and shoulder support on the tripod for those shot where a tripod can be used. Then I can pull the camera and shoulder support off the tripod and be on the move in a few seconds. I wish the front leg would extend about 15 to 20 cm more, and there was a strap to go over the shoulder and connect to the shoulder support to create a nearly hands free contraption.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good and Bad Used in Pro Video Weddings and TV Production. Great because it can be placed into the quick release on a tripod. Bad, because it is a terrible design, there is no comfort pad for your shoulder, all the weight of the camera is in the front and no support other than your hand. When placed on your shoulder the camera is facing down. You have to lift it into an uncomfortable position to have it facing in a level position. The Chest rest, is uncomfortable and does nothing. The adjustment knob is also sub standard. The only way I could use this comfortably was to carry it chest high.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would by this product again VCT-SP2BP Camcorder shoulder support just does what it is built for. I am using it with my Sony PMW EX1R. Without it it is impossible to hand shoot with that heavy camera for a longer period of time. It takes all the stress from your wrist. I tried it ones and it seems to be comfortable. I had used one of the accessories to mount my battery for Sony light, which makes the front of a camera a little bit lighter. Also I mounted a tripod quick release plate, so am able to go quickly to a tripod if needed. It would be much better if the front support arm could be steady fixed so you don't need to adjust it so often. I little bit overpriced. Otherwise, it is a good product. I would recommend purchasing it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The BEST shoulder brace for EX1 I have checked out a number of shoulder braces for my EX1R. I was looking for one that was light yet very functional, easy to set up and that enabled me to use my viewfinder, not just the LCD screen. It's expensive but it's the only one that fulfilled my requirements. Sony has done it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very surprised!! I was very surprised with this product. It does a great job of taking all the stress of your wrist. I used the shoulder support three days straight. I did everything from run & gun to shooting on sticks it worked perfectly. I gave it four stars because it add a little length to the base of the camera and does not fit my bag. One other minor thing is the front support arm need to be adjust every so often. I would recommend purchasing addition tripod plate for your camera and keeping it on the shoulder unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great support!! This is a must if you use the ex3 on the shoulder!! Has nice accessory mount on side. Only bad remark is I cannot fit my ex3 in my bag with this support attached.
