The UV filter is also useful as a general protective filter to leave on lenses at all times. Filters help to reduce dust and moisture from reaching your lens element and provide additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

    Bower FUC95 reviews

95mm Digital HD UV Filter is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 87.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from It Works There aren't many choices for a 95 mm thread lens. This was offered by B&H for the Tamron 150-600 mm. I use it basically to protect the lens; the need for a UV filter is debatable. My concern is that the thread is 'skimpy'. There are only a couple of turns of thread, and it only turns a bit more than one turn before setting up tight, whereas the Sigma CP filter I bought screws in several turns and I feel much more confident about it. B&H assures me that the threads are the right pitch for the lens. I just don't tighten it too much so I can be sure nothing has been stripped and I can remove it. I give it a conditional recommendation.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from If image quality is priority then look for another option. The reason I gave 2 starts and not 1 is because this piece of glass protects your front element. But that's where the good things stop. The filter's thread is rather weird, snug and gives you the feeling that wouldn't take long before it ends up unusable. That alone wouldn't be such a big issue if the intention is to place it on your lens and forget about it. Now, comes the worst part. When I put a filter on a lens, if not improvement I would expect at least for the image quality not to be altered to the point where photographs become partly or completely unusable. Using this item will cut from sharpness and result image blurriness similar to a motion blur. I almost returned my lens until I decided to give a try and run some tests without the filter. Needless to say, this item has been returned and I purchased a Marumi. Unfortunately B&H did not have 95mm Marumi available Higher end filters are expensive and kinda hurts the gizzard spending that kind of money but in the end, get what you are paying for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I needed at a bargain price! Needed a 95 mm protective filter for the Nikon 200-500 mm F5.6 and was put off by the $ prices so I thought I would give this a try. The filter works great with no degradation of image quality at a bargain price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lens Protection Bought this to protect new 150-600mm lens. I am now shopping for another alternative. Pictures have a slight halo effect. Took it off the lens and photos improved. First UV filter I have had this problem. Not many options out there at reasonable price for 95mm lens. Sending it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good devise With this filter attached to my 650-1300mm lens, I was able to take perfect photos of vultures at a distance of 150 ft. Unfortunately due to snoe fall I have been unable to take stellar photos. I would have taken more stellar photos had I had my lens when I ordered it, and not when you decided to finish the processing of my order. I suggest that everyone order this filter for their lenses from a company that processes their orders when the order is placed :).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Protection Only I recently purchased the Tamron 150-600mm lens and along with it, this UV filter. I am giving this filter 5 stars due to its cheap price, yes, you read this correctly. I wanted this UV filter ONLY to help protect the front of the Tamron long lens. When using the lens, I REMOVE this UV filter. If you desire a filter for this lens (not recommended as this lens LOVES light), then opt for better quality filter. BTW, I LOVE my new Tamron lens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job well This filter works well and does the job of protecting the front element of my lens. I use it on a couple of different lenses. It doesn't cause any noticeable degradation of images and does well at a very reasonable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Insurance This inexpensive, well made, and suberbly packaged product is great insurance to protect an expensive lens. It has very little effect on the image.
