Covering a versatile array of wide-angle focal lengths, the AF-S NIKKOR 16-35mm f/4G ED VR from Nikon is a flexible zoom ideal for landscape, cityscape, and interior photography. Its constant f/4 maximum aperture maintains consistent illumination throughout the zoom range and suits working in a variety of lighting conditions. The optical design contains three aspherical elements and two extra-low dispersion elements, which greatly reduce distortion and aberrations for a high degree of sharpness, clarity, and accurate rendering. A Nano Crystal Coat has also been applied to control flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color accuracy in harsh lighting and backlit conditions. Additionally, this lens also sports a Silent Wave Motor for fast and accurate autofocus along with VR II image stabilization to minimize the appearance of camera shake by 2.5 stops.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 16-35mm f/4G ED VR Reviews
Excellent wide angle lens
Excellent wide angle lens. Great pairing with a Nikon D850. Clear crisp images.
16-35mm lens
Very quick and sharp lens. The glass is superb. Photos are extremely crisp.
My 16-35
Recently bought and starting to use. So far I'm in love.
Good lens with a minor caveat for film shooters.
I use with with an F6 35mm camera. I have found this lens to be quite sharp from corner to corner. Good ultra wide zoom range. No vignetting, at least with only one filter attached. I didn't test it with two. Distortion at 16mm is nasty, so compose to avoid straight lines that run parallel along the edge of the frame if you want to avoid it being obvious. Distortion at all other focal lengths is much less of a problem. Of course, digital cameras can correct this distortion, but not film cameras. Be aware that this is a big heavy lens for a wide angle. You might want to check your camera case dimensions to make sure it will accommodate it. I can't get my F6 into my Ape ACPRO 1200 case with this lens attached, which means I have to switch back to my 24-120mm when I put the camera away. A pretty trivial inconvenience, though.
Great shopping experience
Great lense, great price, delivered on time.
So far, so good
I haven't had a chance to use this extensively in the field yet, but in playing around with it in my house and my yard, I am favorably impressed. Lightweight, yet solid. Zoom is internal. Controls are simple. Compact size. Nice images with no distortion that I could detect. I'm pretty happy with it so far. I can't wait to take it out and really use it.
Razor Sharp
I love this lens. It's versatile and sharp. The VR works great when you have to hand hold for long exposures. The lens shade can be a pain to attach but otherwise pretty flawless lens.
Nikon 16-35mm 4.0 ED VR Lens
I've been using the 24-70mm 2.8 for a while now and wanted something a little wider for landscape and street photography. The 16-35 duplicates some of the 24-70 range but I just did not want to deal with the 14-24 monster. This 16-35 makes an excellent walk-around lens and I can always carry something longer if I want.
