Formatt Hitech BF 86-ND1.8HD overview

  • 1Description

The Formatt-Hitech 86mm HD ND 1.8 Filter is a solid neutral density filter providing a 6 stop reduction in exposure. This 1.8 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or longer shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

This filter is constructed from Schott Superwhite glass to maintain high optical clarity and is set within a 4mm-thick metal filter ring.

1.8 ND filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.
Providing a 6 stop exposure reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.
Filter does not affect coloration of the image and is ideal for use with other filters.

Formatt Hitech BF 86-ND1.8HD reviews

86mm HD ND 1.8 Filter is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of gear I bought this to use on my 150-500mm Sigma lens. On a lens like this poor optics can really be magnified but this filter is very very good and I can't tell the difference between shots taken with & without the filter. Sharpness is indistinguishable to me. I use it on other lenses to, a 55-200mm Nikkor, 18-55 NIkkor and even a 11-16 Tokina. Works well on them all. Light restriction is good for waterfalls and smoothing still waters during day light.
