Since Canon doesn't provide a proper lens cap for a $6000 lens (!), this is the best thing you can find. Glad to have it.

better than the original canon lens hood

haven't taken it off the lens since purchase - works great and has nevere shifted or fallen off.

Buy it as soon as you buy the lens or as soon as possible

I bought it about a year after I bought the lens. It has changed my behavior. I know longer worry about putting the camera and lens in the trunk of my car. I can not believe that Canon makes the telco cap when they could make something like this. Buy it when you get the lens

Solid functional product

Fits snug, stays put and doesn't attract dust. And it can be used with the hood in place. Much better solution than Canon's fabric cover. Seems a little pricey for what it is, but it's the best cap I've found.

An excellent product, but quite pricey.

This lens cap will be great when on safari in dusty environments, easily fitted and removed, and well made. As Don says, compared with the price of one of the lenses that it will fit, it's not expensive and certainly gives front element protection without the weight and bulk of the OE products. Highly recommended.

Best solution over the Canon hood thing.

After reading lots of review, I've chosen this over aquatech lens cap for my 400mm DO IS, and it does not disappoint. It fits well on the front and does not touch the glass element even when pressed.

Both Sizes Work

Ordered for the 400mm DO Canon and the 600mm, and couldn't be happier. They work with no fidget going on or coming off, at the bottom of the in-use lens hood or with it reversed for storage. Best way to go.

Works, but expensive

Seems to work fine. Much better than the Canon fabric cover on my 300. Don't like the hard plastic handle on this cap. It's bulky and easy to catch on something. I may just remove it. Also not a fan of the cost.
