question

Will the hood allow me to mount a Cokin P filter system?
Asked by: Richard
Unfortunately the hood is permanently fixed and will prevent any Cokin filter from fitting on the lens.

question

How is this for video? Specifically on A7s, A7rii
Asked by: Jeanpaul
I personally don't use this lens for video but I would think it would work just fine. I use it on an A7S for shooting real estate interior shots. It's fantastic for that purpose. I never need to touch the focus due to the extreme focal length and minimum f/stop being 5.6. Speaking of f/stops, the aperture ring does have detents so it will click as you adjust it which is obviously less than ideal for video. Overall, this is one of my lighter lenses. It's fairly compact as well.

question

Hi all, How does this 12mm work on SONY? I've heard some of the lenses actually will have problem on the sony a7?I am not pretty sure, so somebody please help me if it is ok to use this on my a7(I got 40mm 1.4 which works really good)
Asked by: Kevin T.
I went to a lot of review sites and it appeared to work best with the A7s due to sensor/camera programming who knows! I am not a pro, just keep it level, and remember wide is not for getting it all in - it is the perspective of an angle of a shot keeping lines straight not getting curves mixed in!!!! I have the A7s and this lens with the Voigtlander close focus adapter (for a future portrait lens) is so awesome 6 stars out of 5. I have done Milky Way capture at 1600 vs 3200 and 6400 all very bright at f/5.6 with no star trails on the sides at 42 seconds (the more time allows for lower ISO also). It is perfect for indoor room captures. There is no Fish Eye to deal with and it is very small BUT all metal and with the wide angle filter kit (yes you can use filters) your ready for most anything from street, landscape (day or night) to indoor church or old mansion. Lightroom even has a lens profile and if you use Capture One you can use Gary Fong's Color Reference Kit white sphere to go over the lens hood for a lens profile. For jpegs you can use the Sony camera Lens Profile app BUT Remember lens info is not put into exif file you have to use an editor. The focus looks perfect on camera but you have to use the + button to be sure. For a full frame camera it is a must for the widest in your bag and for the price the best deal in your bag and for the curious just say your shooting with film!!!
