ZEISS 522078 0000 000 overview

  • 1Description

Premium all-weather performance in a pocket-sized binocular? Yes - the Victory Compact 8x20 fits into a shirt or jacket pocket and it delivers breathtaking views. When critical observation of near and distant surroundings is a must, the Victory 8x20 glides seamlessly into action.

This lightweight powerhouse boasts cutting-edge optical technology that ensures optimized light transmission and a breathtaking field of view. The optical path features phase-corrected Schmidt-Pechan roof prisms with dielectric mirror coatings. Ground to perfection, these prisms maximize acuity and light throughput while eliminating aberrations and distortion. The lenses are fully multicoated with Zeiss' legendary T* anti-reflective multicoating and LotuTec protective coating. T* multicoating increases light transmission while negating the negative effects of flare and glare. LotuTec coating helps maintain the integrity of each external lens surface by repelling liquids and debris for a clear view in any conditions, weather, or situation.

The Compact Victory's housing is quite robust - it's reinforced with glass fibers and covered with an anti-slip rubber armoring. A fog-resistant fill of bone-dry nitrogen ensures clear viewing in dynamic climates, and the entire system is sealed for absolute waterproof performance. The hinge is offset - this affords a visibly unique and compact form-factor that is easy to adjust. Focusing is managed with a dial on the hinge, and a pair of soft twist-up rubber eyecups offer a comfortable custom fit.

Victory Compact 8x20 T* Binocular is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact with superb optics I needed an affordable set of compact binoculars to take with me when traveling and also when biking. These Zeiss' totally fit the bill - really sharp and bright with a good depth of field from watching dragonflies on a nearby bush to checking out the boats on the horizon of Lake Michigan. Obviously there are more powerful binoculars but these are also bigger and heavier. Supplied case is good - only downside is the neck strap which while functional is a little flimsy....BTW - since I called Zeiss to find out - these binoculars are made in Hungary - not in China.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for! After being frustrated with cheap binoculars I made the plunge and spent the money for a quality compact binocular. I started my research after noticing the binoculars of the year awards for 2012. Having decided on a compact, the Victory 8x20T by Zeiss seemed to be the right fit. I understand some of the negatives associated with compacts but size does matter and I'm sure I will get more use out of a compact. The quality and clarity of these binoculars is outstanding. The comfort in hand (fairly large hands), ease of focusing and weight add to the pleasure. The close focus ability (8.5ft) is great. I couldn't be happier with my purchase from B&H and highly recommend the Victory Compact 8x20T Binocular.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful Performance & Pocket-able! You don't get a good look at birds unless you have your binoculars, and my pair of Leica 8x32 BN are too bulky and heavy to carry all of the time. That's why I bought the Victory compact binoculars. I just got back from using them on a week-long trip, and they worked great! They are extremely light and small, but the performance is incredible, even though I wear glasses. It took a little time to perfect getting the smaller viewing area on a bird, but it didn't take long to find things as fast as I lifted these binoculars to my eyes. After decades of birding and going through many inexpensive compact binoculars, I wish that I'd bought something like the Victory compact right from the start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Take (almost) anywhere. I have a pair of Leica 8 x 25 binoculars for birdwatching trips - I love them. But have long thought about a small pair for every other trip, when you want to have something along but not be encumbered with binocs that may not be used. These fill the bill perfectly. Excellent optics, crystal clear viewing. REALLY small and lightweight. I took them to the Adirondacks, looked at mountain tops, chipping sparrows, a tiny vole, butterflies - no problems. Birds- if they will stay in the small viewing field - are as clear as with the Leicas. No problem with shake, plenty of light. I'll take them on my next trip to Europe too, where there are few birds to see , but you never know. Should work in theaters too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A satisfying purchase I use these binoculars mainly for viewing birds. Though I will also use them camping and on wildlife trips. This purchase was to upgrade and to replace an old Nikon 8x20 Travelite. The Zeiss are far superior and of course far pricer. I wanted a compact model, and these are excellent. I chose them over a comparable Nikon after reading reviews from some Birders. I own a Zeiss 5x10 monocular and was very impressed by the optics which are excellent in both. They are very comfortable in my hand and easy to focus. I wear eyeglasses and have no issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Compact Binocular I love these compact binos. They have outstanding clarity. In addition to wanting binos of such high quality for viewing, I also wanted a set that was very light and small so that it would not be a burden to carry in the field. When hiking or hunting in the mountains, I like to travel as light as possible and these binos really excel in that regard. I will probably leave my very good but much heavier binos home most of the time from now on when I go into the field. As great as these binos are, they are not designed, however, to take the place of a good spotting scope so if you plan on trophy judging animals in the field at long distances, you will still need a high quality spotting scope.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Choice I expected good quality images, but these binoculars far exceeded my expectation, for such compact binoculars the viewing is nothing short of spectacular, highly recommended for every day carry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great optics I like the idea of only having to make one adjustment to alight the two eye-pieces unlike other high-end binocs with similar 8x20. The optics are as good as it gets and its something that I know if I do not loose these, they will remain with me for life with no need for an upgrade. No brainer for satisfaction.
