FUJIFILM GF670 Overview

The Fujifilm GF670 Rangefinder Folding Camera is a dual-medium format professional camera. It will shoot 6 × 6cm or 6 × 7cm formats, which is selectable via a simple switch (the format cannot be switched mid-roll). It accepts both 120 or 220 roll film and in the 6 × 7cm format, you'll get 20 exposures on 220 rolls, and 10 exposures on 120 rolls. In 6 × 6cm format, you get 24 exposures on 220 rolls, and 12 exposures on 120 rolls.

The GF670 has an aperture priority automatic exposure mode in addition to its fully manual capabilities. This camera features center-weighted metering and an electronic leaf shutter with speeds ranging from 1/500th to 4 seconds. It also has a Bulb setting and will synch with your flash at any shutter speed.

It has an ISO range of 25 to 3200 which is set manually on a dial at the top of the camera. The GF670 has a built-in EBC Fujinon 80mm f/3.5 Fujinon lens, 35mm equivalent to 40mm in 6 × 7cm format and 44mm in 6 × 6cm format. The lens folds fully into the camera so it is protected when not in use while at the same time providing convenient portability. As with many cameras with a similar design, the lens must be set to infinity before folding it closed, to avoid damage.

question

How long will Fuji make film for this camera?
Asked by: Paul
I hope that by now you have bought the camera. As you know, it is NOS (New, Old-Stock), and no longer in manufacture. Don't hesitate! Regardless of how much hype you hear on digital, there is always something 'missing' from a digital photo. Even if you shoot in RAW, there is something hollow about digital photography. On a slightly different topic, unless you're into portraiture (which I doubt, since you're contemplating a fixed focal-length folding camera, which does not allow for a portrait (slightly telephoto) lens, I would suggest you order a couple of rolls of Kodak Ektar 100 film from B&H. In my opinion, it's the finest negative color film ever invented, using T-Grain technology, which gives you the grain characteristics of an ISO 25 film, but with the actual speed of a 100 film. Make your purchases in the dead of winter (to avoid heat damage in the mails), then place the sealed cartons in plastic freezer bags and keep them at -15 degrees F. Thaw them 24 hours before opening for use. That way, you can ignore the expiration dates, plus keep yourself covered for any future shortage of your favorite emulsion.

.9m (2.95 ft)I have one. Wonderful camera, but not for closeup shooting. Then again, three feet isn't too bad.

question

Are there viewfinder magnifiers (like the leica 1.25x or 1.4x) available for this camera? If so, what options are out there? thanks
Asked by: Bryan T.
There are stickers on the camera reminding the user to retract the lens fully (focus at infinity) before closing the cover. Any attachments must be rempoved before this cover may be closed..
