    Audio-Technica Pro 88W reviews

PRO 88W-829 Camera Mountable VHF Lavalier Pro 88W VHF Wireless System is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 88W VHF Wireless System did the trick! I purchased this wireless lavalier system for video recording ballroom dance lessons. Because of the music playing in the ballroom it was hard to impossible to hear what the instructor was saying on the video. This system has made it easy to put a lavalier mic on the instructor, and have the video camera some distance away. Since the music is essentially ambient noise it is dramatically reduced in volume on the recording and the instructor comes through loud and clear. The sound quality is very good. I've used the system with both a Sony NEX7 and also with my iPhone 4S using a special adapter cable. I'm completely satisfied with the purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the Money I use the wireless with my Canon camcorder to do quick PR interviews and training videos. So far, I have only completed two videos and it appears to work rather well. I wanted an good, entry level wireless to work with a few projects I have coming up. If the concept works I will upgrade, but for now I am very happy with my purchase. Even if I upgrade, I will still throw this in the bag to use on family and special events. I checked my local area to make sure the frequency I ordered did not interfere with other signals in my area. The product is clear and clean and not what you would expect for this low price end piece of equipment. Easy set up, worked the first time. No complaints, except the clip on the receiver for the camera does not fit a mini shoe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for a startup on a budget I purchased this for my startup video company. We needed a wireless lav system but we didn't want to spend an arm and a leg. After my initial testing with the unit I am very pleased. The mic picks up the speaker with great clarity and very little interference. Line of site and range were a little low but that is expected with a device at this price range. Overall I think that this system was the most bang for my buck.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light weight, but not cheap I am using 2 of these in an audio bag mixed with an me-66 mic on a boom pole. The wireless packs pick up audio fantastically and tuned lower than the boom pick up a lot of vocals with no interference. I run them on separate frequencies so there is no cross over. Understand that these are omni mics so they do pick up background noise but overall I have had a lot of quality shoots using these. They are extremely lightweight, the heaviest portion being the 9 volt battery. Power consumption is minimal with a full day of shooting, however I still power down when there is a long break between scenes. I have only used them at a 0-100' range so I cannot remark on their full range but at 100' I have not encountered any signal loss. Overall for the price I highly recommend this set up for recording on a budget. As always B&H is fantastic for delivery and customer service, keep up the great work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Deal!! I gave it 5 stars because of its price point! There are better out there but nothing in this price range. For the money you can't expect any more than this. Range is good, it's quite, and clear. Simple set up, easy to mount. Great deal if your looking for a simple wireless lapel mic. Sounded great on my video, buying another!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quality lav for the money The AT PRO 88W is an inexpensive wireless mic solution that despite the low cost performs well. Many of the less expensive wireless mics use 9V batteries and have very short battery lives. This unit lasts as long as I have seen batteries last with the Rode wireless mic solution. In noisy environments it doesn't work as well as the Rode or Sony or Sennheiser's but other than that it works great especially considering the price tag.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lots of static If you don't have to move the receiver around at all, then the sound is fine, but if that is the case you probably don't need a wireless lav. There were several times when it was slightly moved, and only 5 feet from the subject with the mic, and the audio had so much static it was unusable. This is VHF and from what I know, UHF is the way to go for wireless lavs. It also doesn't feel very sturdy

Rated 4 out of 5 by from NICE FOR THE PRICE I'm a freelancer journalist and I use this for recording interviews. Some times you may get some interference, but it's nothing turning off all electronic devices or going somewhere else wont fix. The only con I see is that it uses too many small parts and if you lose one of those, replacements are not easy to find, unless you call the manufacturer.
