Rated 5 out of 5 by from Who needs the big brand name stuff? While the big brand names may offer flashy commercials and celebrity endorsements, Pyramids' speaker wire offers nothing more than crisp, clear sound. 5 star sound at 1 star prices! Used with my JBL Studio L sound system

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for speakers As a human with some knowledge of physics and electricity, I feel I must debunk something here. This IS copper-clad aluminum speaker wire. If you've been on Audiokarma, you've probably read that CCA wire is an affront to your ears. There's no evidence for this. Instead, consider the following:The amount of current a wire can carry is related to its cross-sectional surface area and its resistance. Aluminum wire is more resistive than copper, requiring 1.5x the cross-sectional surface area to carry the same current as an equivalent copper wire. 12 gauge wire has a cross-sectional surface area of 3310 mm^2 while 14 gauge wire has a cross sectional surface area of 2080 mm^2.The long and short of it: 12 gauge CCA perform equivalently to -- and maybe a little better than -- 14 gauge oxygen-free copper wire. I couldn't find a 100' spool of 14 gauge oxygen-free copper for less than $ on the internet, so this stuff saves you $ on that. Spend the extra money on beer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Waste of time and money The wire seems to work well once it is installed, but it's a pain to strip. I figured some of the other reviewers were being too picky, but I was wrong. I'm used to speak wires separating cleanly when you pull on different strands, but the insulation rips wherever it wants instead of down the center. The small amount of money I saved wasn't worth the annoyance and time wasted. I won't be buying this wire again and I recommend that you do the same.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great price on great wire. I purchased this 12 gauge wire to replace older 24 gauge speaker wiring for my home theater system. The sound is much better, and the exterior plastic coating is much more flexible than what I was using previously. The price of this 100' spool was lower from B&H than a 100' spool of smaller gauge wiring at the other large electronics box stores. An excellent buy!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not 12 Gauge! After the insulation is stripped off the wire gauge is actually 14 not 12 !!
