With all the technology these days, you would think that there is something easier to use. Not recommended. Total waste of money

Broke before use

Opened the battery cover and it would never go on again. Had it survived, I'd have been worried about how small and lightweight it is -- seems easy to lose. I'm going back to my cable remote.

Works with Canon R5. Redundant if you already have BR-E1

Canon RC-6 interfaces with the infrared sensor at the front of the Canon R5. Canon BR-E1 uses Bluetooth and interfaces with the camera from any direction. Also able to focus using the Autofocus button. Range of both are about the same, something like 16'. Both are small and inconspicuous but the RC-6 is very slender. Works flawlessly. You can slip an RC-6 in your wallet.

Perfect shutter release. It's small and compact and simple to use and best of all no wires or hook ups to worry about.

I wish I knew about this remote sooner

I haven't stopped using this remote since I got it. It's small and it comes in one little pouch with the Canon logo on it. It's easy to use and it does what it's meant to do. To use this remote, you have to point directly to the camera, so it only works when you're facing it directly; the remote receptor is on the front of the camera. It was a nice addition to my camera accessories, but I still want to try one with WiFi capability in the near future.

Works easily with out making a person who has never used one obsolete. Easy to use and having a extremely easy way to take photos without the chance of camera movement.

Does it work with a R6?
Asked by: James
It works well IF you are facing into camera and can direct beam to IF sensor on front of camera. Use it if you want to get into a group shot. NOT useful if you're behind the camera

question

How far away can I be from the camera for the remote to work? Is it appropriate for self-portrait use, using a 200mm lens?
Asked by: Ahyoung W.
Since this is an infrared remote, you will need to be in the camera's line of sight up to sixteen feet. You could use this remote for self portraiture, yes.
