    Panasonic RQ-2102 Reviews

RQ-2102 Portable Cassette Recorder is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Low Tech Recorder I'm an acoustic guitarist that wanted to get back to basics like acually palying the guitar instead of constantly reconfiguring my pc. I like to hear back compositions I am working on. This is a great little recorder for that. With the recorder on a hard surface you will hear the motor in the recordings a little bit. Just put it on your mousepad or get an external mic if that bothers you. This recorder is perfect for anyone wanting simplicity again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Reliable traditional basic I use this for recording lines in plays that I need to memorize. I find it very easy to use because it's the same analogue type I've been familiar with for many years. These are fast becoming obsolete, so I'll go digital next time!! I love that it has a counter, making it easy to find my place. Many current audio cassette recorders don't have this. The onboard mic is OK in a pinch, but pretty weak and lo-fi, so you'll be happier using some kind of very affordable plug in mic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased with this product I purchased this item for my Dad as a gift. He uses it to record old cassettes onto the computer where he can then convert the audio on them to mp3 files or burn it to a CD for easy playback. He has been very pleased with it thus far. It appears to be soundly constructed and he appreciates that it has an AC power supply. Many other models that we had considered were powered only by battery and/or were cheaply made. Also very please with B&H service and quick shipping, as always.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Back to the terrific quality products This product was purchased for the use of our children to listen to their read aloud story books. This is the same recorder I had when I was little and it lasted forever. Would recommend this product because it's the high quality products that we used to enjoy. Now everything is made so cheaply and breaks in a few months. looking forward to having this around for a long time!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from No Remote Jack for Telephone Recording I purchased this product for the purpose of recording phone calls for Family History interviews. When I tried to connect it to my recording unit, I was unable to do so as it required a recorder with a remote jack. I had a Craig 2603 recorder way back that had a remote jack. I just expected the Panasonic RQ-2102 to have the same. The Panasonic is a fine little recorder, but of little use to me without the remote capability. I should have called before I made the purchase. I may find a use for it yet. It works just fine as a basic portable cassette recorder, a little behind the times, however, in a digital world. (:>

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old Fashioned??But works well. Listening to my vast collection of music cassette tapes. Don't need to lug a boombox around. Keep it right next to you. Has accurate mechanical digital counter for rewind & replay. FF & Rewind are fast unlike some boomboxes. Easy pushbutton operation. AC power supply integral with unit. Not stereo, but that does not bother me. Can feed output to PC for MP3 conversion with 3rd party software.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Machine!! I use this for transfering audio tapes to CDs and for use in movies I edit for clients. Good clarity and very easy to use. I transfer directly into my computer with a cable with RCA plug ins on one end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Panasonic Tape Player/Recorder I searched the internet for a machine for a Hospice patient that is mostly blind and the player are his eyes. My decision was based solely on what was available as well as how soon I would be able to procure this player for him. I had a panasonic player in 1971 and the final cost this time was close to what the cost was all those years ago with free shipping in the United States.
