The Impact PowerSync16 Transmitter is one-half of the PowerSync16 radio slave system for triggering flash units up to 590' (180 m) away indoors, or 200' (60 m) outdoors using the AC receiver or the DC receiver (both available separately).

PowerSync16 has 16 digitally coded channels available so you can even work at events with other photographers without flash or radio interference. You can trigger as many flashes or cameras as you like from this one transmitter, as long as they're all on the same frequency and have a PowerSync16 receiver. Flash sync speeds of up to 1/250 second are possible with PowerSync16.

The transmitter features a hot shoe mount and can be triggered directly from the camera. In addition, a PC sync cord is included, which allows the transmitter to be positioned off-camera to be triggered via the camera's PC socket. The transmitter operates on one 3V CR2450 battery.

The PowerSync system is not designed to perform in TTL mode with flash units - camera and flash must be set to Manual Mode.

Note: This remote does not provide high-voltage sync protection, and is not recommended for use with flash units that have a trigger voltage of more than 6V.

16 Reliable Channels
Digitally coded at 2.4 GHz for multiple set-ups; work at events with other photographers without the worry of flash or radio interference.
Extensive Range of Reliable Performance
590' (180 m) indoors; 200'+ (60+ m) outdoors. An above-average range for the most demanding situations (radio interference and low battery strength will lower your effective range).
Fast Sync Speeds
Compatible with most cameras, offering a maximum sync speed of 1/250 second; allows the user to capture most studio and event scenes.

PowerSync16 Transmitter is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 100.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nicely made I was skeptical at first but the Impact B&H house brand is not that bad. Since I couldn't afford Pocket Wizards, I decided to give this a try. The many positive reviews on this item proves true. It feels sturdy and it looks slick. The range on it is more than I will ever need. Pretty easy to setup. Comes with all the cords you will ever need. I would recommend this item to those looking for pocket wizard alternatives. I WAS deciding between these and the Cybersyncs by Paul Buff. I chose Impact because it has an on/off switch while the cybers dont. I gave it 4 stars out of 5 because the antennea is not rigid and can get bent in your camera bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Little Transmitter Take Care of Business This little unit is much cheaper than the Pocket Wizard and takes care of my needs just fine. I trigger studio lights and take it outdoors to trigger strobes. I even have a shoe on the side of one of my flashes so I can trigger it via the flash sync and make use of an on camera fill flash. This replaced an older one I had that I lost. The rubber antenna broke off but it still had enough range to trigger a flash up in the windows of Grand Central Station in NYC where I had a bride and groom standing. The switches allowing for light grouping are tiny and slightly tricky to use but I rarely use them so not a big deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT flash triggers I use this transmitter with two receivers and they are perfect. They act just like PocketWizards and they perform flawlessly. The price is just right for these triggers as you get what you pay for. They are small and lightweight and incredibly durable. They stand up perfectly fine with heavy flashes and mount on a tripod/light stand with ease. The battery inside the transmitter is like a watch battery and is very easy to find at almost any store. The battery that comes in the transmitter & receiver has an extremely long battery life. My only minor complaint is that the antenna on top is somewhat flimsy and seems like it could break off. However I have bent it to 90 degrees and it popped right back into place.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good System at a Great Price I purchased this system as an alternative to the PocketWizard Plus II because it is more economical, offers 16 channels as opposed to 4, and as an added bonus the transmitter is more compact when connected to the hot shoe atop your camera. I expected a compromise in quality, but am very pleased to report that these units have surpassed my expectations. They are durable and reliable, firing every time without missing a beat. They also seem to be built quite well, having already survived a couple of drops with no ill effects. If you need full TTL control of a dedicated off-camera speedlight, then this is not for you. But if what you need is to be able to remotely fire stobes or off-camera flashes again and again, this system will take care of that quite well. Take the money you save, and buy more receivers to expand your lighting system!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great while it worked... Unfortunately, this transmitter failed on me 10-minutes into the first photoshoot using it. The transmitter would simply not consistently trigger the receiver when on the camera's hot shoe to the point where it completely quit triggering. Tried troubleshooting on the field to no avail. Had to switch to tethered shooting to complete the shoot. I was looking fwd to getting a long run with this transmitter but will not be the case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tons of fun I teach high school photography and this is a great tool to get the kids thinking about light intensity and direction. We use these along with two PowerSync receivers attached to two Impact VSD 160 strobes. Since the strobes are not attached to the camera, students can position them wherever they want in order to achieve different effects. We are using this lately for jump shots and the students are having fun and getting some cool results. Occasionally there is a misfire, but I think that's pretty typical of any remote firing technology.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm impressed For this price, I am really impressed. The construction of this is extremely solid and yet lightweight on my D90. I plan on using this to trigger my studio strobes as well as remote speedlights for anything from senior pictures to weddings to families to kids. Overall I am please with the product and happy with all of the sync cords that came with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I will buy more! If you have a small studio or do wedding photography, radio transmitters are a must. Other brands are desirable but out of reach for my budget. After reading the reviews I purchased the Powersync product and am highly satisfied. Good solid build, lightweight, not flimsy cheap plastic, and they have not failed one time. When I buy more flashes, I will definitely be firing them with these. p.s. they also included accessories for mounting every way possible, they even included sync cords to plug directly into the strobe.
