The Oben BD-0 Mini Ball Head is the perfect topper for a miniature or table-top tripod model. Constructed of aluminum, the BD-0 functions like most full-sized ball heads but features a supremely low-profile design. A single-action lever loosens the ball and allows it to move freely in all directions, and in addition, a groove allows it to tilt 90° in one direction.

The BD-0 head can serve as a replacement head for an Oben TT-100, TT-200, or TT-300 table-top tripod. Or it can allow you to properly orient your camera on any other tripod model, whether it has a 1/4"-20 or a 3/8"-16 stud – the head has a 3/8" thread and comes with a reducer bushing to make it compatible with the 1/4"-type stud.

What would be the reasons for choosing this ball head over the similar Oben bd-02?
Asked by: Andrew
I have four of the BD-0. I haven't seen the BD-02 in person, but the description others have given ring true. I use the BD-0 for holding speedlights and small LEDs. The BD-0 is very similar to the BD-1 that is used on the TT-100 tabletop tripod (which I have). I'd agree with others that the BD-0 should work for a lightweight camera or DSLR with not-too-big lens. In my use, the BD-0 has been able to hold a good-sized speedlight like the Nikon SB-910 fitted with a light modifier such as a bounce card or "pocketbox", and to hold it firmly on a stand with the speedlight tipped over at an oblique angle to the stand. That's what I got it for, and it has worked well for that.

question

Can this be used, effectively, to mount an AX53 and Rode VideoMic Pro on a Selfie Stick? Can the ball head handle the weight? Can it be tightened properly?
Asked by: ali M.
I think you might want to look into something a little sturdier. This ball mount is really small. We use it to support an Atomos Ninja on our Ronin. It does lock nicely but it's not hefty

question

Hi, I had Oben TT-100 table top mini tripod supplied with Oben BD-1, but recently I lost the ball head. But Oben BD-1 Ball head model is not available separately for sale. Now I want to purchase Oben BD-0 mini ball head. what is the difference between Oben BD-0 and Oben BD-1 model . Thanks
Asked by: Mallikarjunaiah
The main difference between the Oben BD-1 Mini Ball Head and the Oben BD-0 Mini Ball Head is the load capacity; the Oben BD-0 Mini Ball Head is stronger, supporting up to 6.6 lbs, while the Oben BD-1 only supported 4 lbs. The BD-0 is also lighter in weight. Otherwise, the two would be similar in size and performance.

question

Is the tightening screw just below the 1/4 -20 made of aluminum or plastic?
Asked by: Keith U.
The black plastic knob that is used to screw the 1/4 -20 thread into the camera is plastic.

question

Is the 3/8 insert removable to adapt to a standard light stand head? Looks like it, just wanna make sure
Asked by: Joe
Here's what I see on mine. With the insert in, it takes a 1/4 -20 thread, and with the insert out it takes a 3/8 -16 thread. That's as far as it goes. If standard light stand head is 5/8 then you would need some kind of an adapter down to 3/8 .
