Doesn't fit on hotshoe

I bought this hot shoe bubble level 2 years ago and only tried using it a few weeks ago. But it doesn't fit on my Nikon D850 and Z7. The part that slides into the hot-shoe is just a bit too thick. I don't want to force it on and damage the hot-shoes of these cameras. It also doesn't fit on a Canon M5 hot-shoe but fits on my old Canon 70D but is a tight fit. I've had it for two years so I assume I can't return it. Bummer!

Great addition to my camera bag

I got this on-sale. Not sure if I would have purchased it if it had not been on sale, but now I'm glad I have it. It did take a little bit of work to get it to slide onto the flash hot shoe, but if you simply rub it along very fine sand paper (320 of better) after a few a tries it now fits very nicely and securely. (take your time if you decide to sand, you could potentially remove too much material, that would not be good!) I have a very accurate, digital level that I use for precision alignment on process equipment. Using this level I found that my hot shoe bubble level was within 0.10 degree or accuracy. (basically much better than you can achieve by just visually setting it up by sight) and to get the camera perfectly level, it really takes the correct tripod, it's all but impossible with a rotating swivel ball style tripod. So basically this little level is far better than what I will probably ever try to achieve. If you want to use it for architecture work, I don't think you will be disappointed. (side note, with the camera in portrait, it's a lot harder to check the level with my digital level, so I can't comfortably say it is perfectly accurate in this plain)
