The red Opteka X-Grip Pro Video Stabilizing Handle adds an extra level of convenience and control to your video production by providing a comfortable top handgrip and stable base to your camcorder or DSLR. This not only allows for easier transport, but gives you the freedom to shoot smoother, more stable video from below the waist or at ground level. Shooting from a skateboard, rollerblades, or even a bike becomes far less challenging. A cold shoe mount on the front of the handle allows for convenient mic or light placement, so even quiet handheld dialogue scenes benefit from using Opteka's X-Grip.

X-Grip Pro Video Stabilizing Handle (Red) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 151.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks Better then it is! I bought this product for my 5d camora to shoot outside. i ride my bike alot and skateboard alot so for me having something this light seemed the right move. But when you put a bit of wheight on it,the ex-grip becomes flexible witch for me its not good at all. i shoot extreme sports so not being stable and when it bends from left to right because it is plastic it beats the whole purpose because my shoots does come out steady. unfortunately the x-grip does not meet its comply for what is made for. it should've been made out of a stronger material. i love the shape and desing..that's why i got it

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I do not trust on my DSLR It probably works fine with a small DSLR with a small lens, or small camcorder, but I will not put my 5D on this. With a 24mm-105mm on it I can actually *see* and feel the curved portion of the grip bend slightly. Its a hollow piece of plastic. Feels like I could easily snap it into 2 piece. I don't feel safe doing whip-pans, or skateboard videos with this despite some Youtube clips I've seen. I will be returning for probably a solidly built pistol grip. Can't recommend for anyone doing pro or semi-pro work, sorry. But if you buy it you'll probably need a quick release plate since the handle makes screwing the bottom a bit more difficult.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing is great!! I stumbled upon this while searching for a support for small camcorders. Highly configurable allowing you to attach your camera in any direction plus the accessory shoe (shotgun mic or video light) at the top can also be configured to point in any direction. Extremely lightweight, foam grip, and easy to hold. If you have large hands, find it confining to hold the camera in front of your face most of the time, or just want to be able to move the camera around for different viewpoints easily then this is for you. I use it with my Canon HF S200 and, with the S200's great stabilization, this is effectively an incredibly inexpensive steadicam. Works well with a DSLR too. Can't beat the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its cheap and works great! What a great product. First of all its cheap and if just broke the bank on a dslr oor small cam buying lenses, this is a MUST purchase. It can be used in many more ways than listed. I used it on a hand held shoot with my GH2 and the 20 mm pancake lens, with amazing results. Simple not having to grip the dslr itself makes a huge difference. You can cradle the bottom and pressing onto your shoulder, to get steady shots. Low shots ate also easy with the grip and the hot shoe mount is perfect for a Mic or small lamp. My only complaint is the legs get in the way when you try to mount on a tripod. But seriously for the price this is win product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well designed, well balanced The product is sturdy and well constructed. With a Canon Vixia HFS 10, it is well balanced and allows for surprisingly steady hand held shooting. The shoe on top of the handle is an excellent design detail, and accommodates an external mic without making the unit unwieldy. One detail to mention that is not evident from the photographs and product description is that the mounting screw that holds the camera to the unit is itself threaded so as to enable the attachment of a standard tripod shoe. This was an added bonus for me, as I can now switch from using a tripod to the handheld unit easily. Overall a simple but highly effective piece of equipment.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Limited with Sony A1 We bought this for our Sony A1, but we had the following issues: We shoot a lot with VLC MHg07 wide end conversion lens which makes the front end quite heavy - so the best position for weight distribution is near the handle. However when using the A1 with mixer and mic, the camera has to be positioned quite far forward, because the mixer on top of the camera does not fit under the handle. So the Xgrip will not sit flat on a table. The mixer can be fitted to the hot shoe on the handle, however the xlr/hotshoe cable is uncomfortably tight. This would be the best solution if i can find a longer xlr-sony hotshoe cable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well worth the money Ordered this X Grip based on users rating on the web. And of course the price. First thing i noticed was the padded foam handles all around . It makes it much easier to grip and hold as it also has finger grooves on the top bar! Tried it on my Son's Birthday with a Canon Vixia HFS 21 and LED external light attached on the cold shoe mount of the XGrip. It handled very well and gave me much more stabilitazion than handheld. I noticed it right of the bat. And it is great for low angle shoots since you can hold it right down to the floor with the horizontal bar by just bending a little bit . Overall it was comfortable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from very light duty only great design but all plastic build has too much flex for my (1.5#)canon vixia g10. by the time i get the camera secured tightly the base plate appears to be flexing. no tripod thread on bottom like older model. my Nikon dslr is way too heavy for this rig (and would require a monitor and mount).difficult to use a mic on top. your hand is almost touching your mic which picks up the sound from your grip, even with my shock-mount. only good for palm-sized camcorders. Pros: great balance and feel. 3 cable-tie lugs. saw a video on stabilizing it by adding a strut.
