The beige E6i (3-Pin Lemo) from Countryman is a miniature, omnidirectional, earset condenser microphone designed for accurate voice reproduction (speaking and singing) and near-invisible appearance in theater, concerts, lectures, houses or worship, and more. It features a water- and wind-resistant capsule that delivers a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. The omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound from all directions and should be used when feedback is not common.

The 5’ detachable cable has a diameter of 1mm, and features a 3-pin Lemo connector for compatibility with Sennheiser transmitters. The E6i offers a flexible boom for versatile placement. The three protective caps yield different high-end frequency presence. The supplied windscreen protects the condenser element, and reduces plosives and wind noise. Cable clips and a carrying case are included.

Miniature Unobtrusive Design
A miniature omnidirectional capsule is mounted to a low-profile, flexible frame with silicon ear section. This lightweight, unobtrusive design is available in various colors that virtually render the entire microphone invisible against the skin. For more information on which color earset suits you best, refer to the Countryman support page.
Removable Cable
The included 1mm diameter cable detaches from the actual headset, making it completely replaceable in the event of a short or break. The replaceable cable design makes upgrading wireless microphone systems easy, as they are available in a wide selection of connections to accommodate various wireless transmitters.
Omnidirectional Polar Pattern
The omnidirectional polar pattern is most effective in minimizing wind noise, plosives (popping) and handling noise. The flexible boom provides a custom fit for multiple users and close microphone positioning while minimizing off-axis noise. The E6i is also available in a cardioid version for maximum off-axis noise rejection in environments with high feedback and noise.
Sensitivity Optimized for Speaking and Vocals
This E6i sensitivity response is optimized to accurately capture both speech and vocal performances without noise and distortion.

Countryman E6I Reviews

Can you hear me now?

I previously bought another brand's earset because it saved me a little bit of cash and got great reviews. It was never truly comfortable, always digging in to the top of my ear, no matter much I readjusted the fit. And then the cord malfunctioned. I plugged in a second cord and it worked again but the second cord's plug is frozen and it couldn't be replaced when it inevitably broke. So I decided to go for the Countryman and see if there was any difference. Huge difference! It's so comfortable I don't feel that I'm even wearing it. Sounds great right out of the box. It didn't need any audio adjustments and now I'm a happy camper. It's always been my thing to get the best quality. In the long run it always pays off. I should've listen to my self and go on with the Countryman from the get go. I have absolutely no regrets regarding this is new ear set, other than the money I wasted.

Our new Countryman sounds great, just like the others we've used before. The 2mm cable is more robust and the flexible earpiece stays in position better.

I am familiar with this product as a sound technician at our church, and the facility manager at a conference center. Countryman has a great product... sound quality is great and works well on our Shure wireless system.

Convenience

These mics are great for musician/singers that need freedom to see music or the instrument while singing simultaneously. They take adjustment to your ear and should not be shared to preserve their life. They can cause slight discomfort on the back of the eat due to a pressure point caused by the rigid flexible junction if not adjusted just right. For the size of microphone, the quality is exceptional, and the latest generation has a bigger coax cable that feeds the receiver which should be much more durable. For pure singer voice quality, my handhelds have better quality.

Used for years

E6 head mic is wonderful sounding mic for speech and singing. Much better than a traditional lav.(unless you do not want to see anything, then a lav dressed into the hairline is best. It can make a sound system in a bad environment sound pretty good. I use them mated to Sennheiser wireless system on our pastors. In my early career as a Sound Designer, I used them exclusively on theater productions. I also like that if the cable goes bad you can replace at the ear mic. This opinion is based on ROI. I do like the DPA's, but for the money go Countryman.

no more popping from this bad boy. Our privies mics had some serious issues and its nice to be able to now walk around stage without hearing every step crackle on the mic.

This boom mic was a perfect choice for the fundraiser we conducted in a hotel ballroom. The fidelity of the mic was excellent as we pumped voice through the hotels house system. We paired it with a Sennheiser EW 172 G3-A1 receiver. The mic was comfortable, crisp and clear and had no background noise. Definitely worth the price.

I loved it, until it broke

This unit was everything I wanted-- comfortable, invisible (almost), good sound no matter how I turned my head (I only used it for spoken word). But 13 months after I bought it, only used a dozen times, the tip broke and the sound went down by about 90% (while I was using it). Granted, my sound equipment takes a lot of abuse, in the environment in which I use it, but my other headset is over a decade old with way more use/year. I am hoping this very expensive headset can be repaired, otherwise, it will be the worst investment ever.

Will this work with Rode FilmMaker wireless transmitters?

Yes it will work. It is a 1/8 locking connector wired for Sennheiser systems. Sennheiser and Rode use the same pin configuration.
