    Leica 18713 reviews

X Wrist Carrying Strap (Black) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Don't Drop Your Leica X1 I use my Leica X1 with the 18709 carrying case. Especially when I am on the street or in a building with a hard floor, I have always been concerned about dropping the camera when I remove it from its case creating a sound you never want to hear. I checked out other wrist straps but they were either too flimsy or would not fit in the closed case or could damage the camera's finish. The Leica X1 strap is easy to use, well constructed and fits nicely outside the case when it is closed. To use it I just grab the strap, open the case and remove the camera. If I am planning a series of shots, I wear the strap around my wrist. My only complaint is that the strap is somewhat thicker than it needs to be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprisingly versatile I use the X1 carrying strap on my X2. The thin attachment cord doesn't get in the way with fitting the X2 into the Leica Every Ready case nor half case protector. The leather wrist strap is beautifully made, comfortable and the attachment cord seems strong enough. I presume Leica proved that to their satisfaction before ever marketing it. It is also fitted with a leather sliding loop that can be adjusted to tighten the strap snugly around your wrist. Because of the flexibility of the attachment cord, the strap can easily be kept out of the way when not in use. It can also be removed quickly if need be. I keep mine on the camera all the time even when using the neck strap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth It This wrist strap is clearly overpriced. I have a $10.00 wrist strap with a quick release feature. The quick release feature is a potential failure point. (The part that you don't have is the part that won't fail.) I am happy to use this with an X1 and would buy it again. I would rather pay $25.00

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect carry strap This strap is wide and comfortable, and I prefer it to a neck strap on a camera the size of the X1. Excellent Leica quality as always.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Time will tell This is a very nice leather wrist strap with an apparently functional yet aesthetically challenged mounting/attachment design. It's a nice wide sturdy leather strap with a stitched leather retainer attached to a very thin looking cord. I'm hoping it's Kevlar of some other high tech miracle string and I'm hoping it wears well. Seems like a wider ribbon like design would have been more appropriate for the price and nicer looking. Has no Leica logo why $? :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A well made, high quality strap I purchased the Leica X1 Carrying Strap to use with my new camera. In typical Leica fashion, the strap is well made and classic in design. The leather is very nice and the slightly curved shape is ergonomic. The only design change I would make to the strap is to replace the thin nylon cord used to attach the strap to the camera with something like a strip of leather. The nylon, while plenty strong, gives the sense of being less so.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ridiculously bad design Bought this for use with my Leica X2 and found that it attached appropriately. I was predisposed toward OEM extras, liked the strap that came with the camera itself. So, how bad could this be, right? Well, in-hand, it immediately struck me as a clumsy design. The attachment of the small cord-part that feeds through the eyelet on the camera was bulky, lacked refinement. The strap itself is cut on a curve: So, when inserting my hand, should the curve bias downward or upward? In use, both ways felt intrusive. I constantly found myself sliding it around to keep it out of the way of the camera handling and/or obstructing something related to taking photographs themselves. Finally, I wanted something that would work with the case in which I was carrying the camera when not in use. It did allow the 18755 to close with the camera within, hanging out okay. But it certainly didn't allow my hand to slip in and out of it before and after uses, as would seem its intended design. I've also gotta ask what's up with the little cord that connects strap to the camera? While I wasn't concerned about it holding (though didn't test it, nor am I suggesting any guarantee here), it was a twisty, spinny, cheap-looking affair. I'm in the process of returning this to B&H as I write this review. Sadly, I can find nothing to recommend this strap, for any purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the x100 neck strap Very nice quality strap that doesn't take up too much room and fits the Fuji x100 very nicely.
