Bower AB43N reviews

AB43N Micro Four Thirds Body to Nikon Lens Adapter is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good choice, emphasis on CHOICE! Have too many Nikon film lenses to give up on them. Chose the Olympus E-PL2 for its advertised internal vibration reduction and the availability of this type adapter. Read reviews from B&H and other vendors; this one was the only one with reasonable pricing and without devastating reviews. Spent a bit more; achieved great results. Took the system on a cruise to the Western Caribbean (filled a 4GB card with jpegs). Use it to take pictures of LSU Women's Basketball games; take upwards of 400 shots per game. One comment from other reviews discuses excessive play in and/or sticking of the adapter. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN HERE! Same play as the kit lens. Have had it on & off Nikon Micro 200 f4; Tokina 24-200 f3.5-5.6; & Micro 105. Good buy! Thanks.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This thing saved me, but it's got flaws 5 stars for: I got the adapter to use with a couple of Nikon and Zeiss primes. They both worked great and I was able to use them on the shooting day. 1 star for: It is impossible to use this adapter with a follow-focus. The Nikon end of the adapter is tight enough to hold the lenses in places, but too lose to REALLY hold them in place. I've tried 3 different follow focuses with this adapter and all of them exerted enough torque to wobble the lens in its Nikon mount. Summary: If you don't intend to use a follow focus, this adapter is golden. If you do, then you're SOL, big time. The quality of this adapter is high, but it has only re-inforced the notion that all serious cameras should come with PL mounts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works, but needs an arrow. . . This adaptor is very important to those who already own Nikon lenses that they would like to use on their four thirds cameras. It is very well constructed and fits tight with just a slight wiggle that doesn't hamper the function in any way. The only thing I would suggest is that they put a small arrow on the release button so that you don't frustrate yourself trying to remove the device by pushing the button instead of sliding it toward the camera body.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My worries went away I bought this to attach my Nikon lens to a Lumix GH2 body. I hear bad stories of how flimsy adapters may cause ones lens to fall off. When I mounted this adapter to my Nikon lens and then to the Lumix GH2, it felt solid and clicked into place as expected. Taking it off was simple, as well. There were no instructions in the box but online forums and other reviews stated to pull the tab on the adapter back toward the camera body. It was simple and not as expensive as the other adapters that are at least twice the price. I was expecting to see a silver metal lens mount as pictured on B&H but instead got one in black. But it doesn't matter, it's of all-metal construction.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent, no complaints. Works fine on an Olympus E-PL1. There is a little bit of play when mounted on the camera, but there are no issues per se. Micro four-thirds is great, since metering is functional in program and aperture priority modes - focusing is manual with the lenses, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reasonable cost and it works great. I shoot video mostly 720p & 1080p and I have several older manual Nikon lenses that I wanted to put on my Z Cam E1 camera. There's no electronics connecting the M4/3 mount to the lens, so there's no way to control the newer lenses with auto iris or anything else electronic in them. The other issue to be aware of is the fact that there is no optical material inside this adapter, so a 50mm lens on M4/3 will act like 100mm lens on a Full Frame 35mm camera. My older Nikon Lenses have been returned back into use thanks to this simple adapter, so I'm very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy and Simple to use I bought this adapter to use my much faster Nikon lenses on the GH2 for shooting video in lower light situations. I was pleased with how easy it was use (no instructions included or required). It mounts securely to both the lens and the camera body, and can be released by pressing the little chrome lever on the side. It seems to do what it's supposed to do. Because I primarily shoot video and pull focus by hand, I can't comment on auto-focus use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Micro 4/3 body to Nikon 35mm lenses I have a collection of great old film cameras. Now the Nikon lenses from them fit my Lumix GF1. Advantage - I am back in control of my photography again, with the F stops being physical and in front of me on the lens. A consideration focusing is hard work if you haven't got a live view eye viewer fitted, and are relying on the back LCD screen. A thing to watch out for, the first time you use the adaptor - the adapter catch is a little silver button, that slides back towards the camera body to release the lens. Trying to push it in or pull it out doesn't work. Only problem - a very small amount of play at the mating surface, between adapter and lens mount. I would definitely buy this product again. It made it to Australia from America no problems.
