Advanced Magnesium Housing System

An innovative advanced housing system couples a rugged magnesium exterior with a hollow interior, providing all of the precise, fluid-like movement of a standard fluid ball head without extraneous weight.

Bubble Level

SBH ball heads have two large built-in bubble levels. Combine the head's double vertical and horizontal balance/stability control with your tripod's bubble level and you cannot achieve more stable or more precise positioning.

Double Locking System

SBH ball heads have a double locking system, ensuring maximum security for your equipment. Two separate mechanisms are simultaneously triggered to release the quick release plate; you can be confident that your camera and lenses won't fall.

Panoramic Function

The SBH-100 has a dedicated horizontal control knob that enables you to take incredible panoramic shots with smooth, full 360° movement.

question

can this ballbead support a L bracket for an arca-swiss ?
Asked by: David S.
No, you need a ballhead that takes arca swiss plates. Arca Swiss, Really Right Stuff, Benro, Induro, many Oben ballheads, as well as other brands take Arca Swiss plates and will work for your L-bracket.

question

how many millimeters is the ball head diameter?
Asked by: Anonymous
Hard to measure round things precisely, but using calipers I could get fairly close. The ball itself measures just over 31 mm. The main body of the head measures just under 49 mm. The scale at the bottom of the head is 62 mm. Hope this helps. By the way, this is a great tripod head. It provides positive support in all positions, the controls are in logical positions, and the mounting plate is strong, reliable, and easy to attach/detach.

question

I have an Olympus EM-1 with grip and wonder if there is an L Bracket that I can use with this head?
Asked by: Elizabeth O.
The quick release plate is proprietary. There is no L bracket that uses that plate design.Best for an L bracket is to get a head that uses an Arca-Swiss quick release style plate. And with that you have options for an L bracket.Sirui makes a good head that is Arca Style, G-10X and PromMidiaGear has a good universal L bracket.

question

Hi, can i mount a wimberley WH 200 Gimbal tripod head II with quick release base on this Vanguard SBH 100?
Asked by: Anonymous
Joseph K has a very good point. Would you consider doing it the other way around- mounting the ballhead to the gimbal head? That will also allow you portrait format pictures.

question

Works well with the included plates, but when I tried an Arca-Swiss plate by another manufacturer the Vanguard slot was too large. I checked the Arca-Swiss specs and it seems the Desmond plate measures exactly at the 38mm specs. The Vanguard plates and slot are several millimeters larger. This is a problem because Vanguard seems to offer only one rather small plate. Any comments on this deviance from A-S standards?
Asked by: Anonymous
Unfortunately the Vanguard SBH-100 is not an Arca Swiss style QR system. It is not intended to accept any other plate other than the Vanguard QS-39 plates this it comes with.

question

Does this ballhead match Manfrotto 190 CX3?
Asked by: Anonymous
This ballhead can be used on the Manfrotto 190 CX3, or any other set of tripod legs that features a 3/8 -16 thread. When used with the included 1/4 -20 thread adapter, this head can also be used on smaller tripods with a corresponding head mount. These two thread sizes will be the most commonly used for photo tripods, and will almost always be listed in the specifications for both heads and legs.
