The Sony AC Adapter for Select Sony Cameras operates your digital camera from an AC outlet while saving battery power. This connector will come in handy when the camera is being used indoors for extended periods such as for studio sessions, when uploading files to a PC, or when playing back media on a TV. This adapter is for the older Sony E mount cameras that utilize the NP-FW50. Since the A7S III uses the newer NP-FZ100 battery, the IndiPRO Tools AC Power Supply with NP-FZ100 Dummy Battery, BH # INACSA73 would be a better option. https://bhpho.to/2OwkBiH

Why isn't this compatible with the ZV-1? ZV-1 powered by USB event full 1.5 amps runs the battery down during filming.

The Sony AC Adapter for Select Sony Cameras (B&H# SOACPW20) is equipped with a dummy battery (sometimes called a DC coupler) that is in the right shape (and with its electrical contacts in the right positions) to work with Sony cameras that use the Sony NP-FW50 battery. However, your Sony ZV-1 takes the smaller Sony NP-BX1 battery since it will be used with smaller devices.
