Compass 25 Fluid Head is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good head, questionable long term build quality I have had this head with the toggle 2 stage legs for about 3.5 years. Its comfortable to use with a lightweight Red Epic setup. However It has been in repair 3 times since then. I think this is too many times for mid-range professional head. Once the casting of the tripod joins started cracking and had to be replaced, another time the rosette where the pan handle attaches cracked and broke off, and more recently the head itself needed repair for not engaging gears properly resulting in a lot of play, which causes jerks in operating. I don't think this is acceptable as my oconnor has been faultless for over 10 years.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Usable with my Red Epic at 17lbs Even with perfect balance it drifts back, ever so slightly, after comming to a stop when tilting. Panning is fine. This very slight drift would not be noticeable with a subject that was moving but it's there. Called the Mfg. Rep and discoverd that no adjustment, we tried, would eliminate this very slight drift. I expect a professional head to stop dead and stay there when I let go of the pan handle. I'm disapointed.
