The Pelco DX8100 16-CH 8TB Digital Video Recorder with MUX is backwards compatible with DX8000 DVRs and is expandable to meet the future security needs of growing commercial enterprises. Optional add-ons are available for increasing camera channels (for 8/24 models), for adding audio capabilities, for adding multiplexing output capabilities, and for increasing the DVR's memory. Storage can also be expanded by installing additional internal hard drives or by attaching an external Pelco hard drive array. Alternatively, the external HDD array can be configured as a RAID solution to enable redundant recording. There is also an optional module for interfacing this DVR with ATM and POS devices.
This DVR uses Pelco's proprietary compression technology for quality video images and for efficient data management. Video is recorded at frame rates up to 480 fps, resulting in smooth video playback for each camera channel. Image resolution and frame rates can be set to automatically increase when recording is triggered by motion, alarm, pre-alarm, and ATM/POS events - thereby ensuring that important incidents are captured with utmost clarity.
Up to 5 DVRs can be connected in a network. The 5 DVRs can be any combination of DX8100 and DX8000 DVRs and can be accessed via the optional KBD300A keyboard controller. A fast Gigabit Ethernet connection provides the necessary speed for interfacing and accessing multiple DVRs along with their associated cameras over a network. In addition to accessing live cameras and recordings, network users will be able to control a camera's PTZ as well preset and tour functions. Up to 36 local or remote cameras can be viewed on one screen (at CIF). An internal DVD burner facilitates offloading files to an optical disc for transfer or archiving purposes.
