The Model 3095 V.92 USB Mini External Modem from Zoom Telephonics is a USB modem, compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux computer systems. Ideal for notebooks and desktops that don't feature a built-in modem, it is capable of dial-up data transfers of up to 56k in speed.

The modem features many advanced features. These include support for modem-on-hold and call waiting, voice mail recording capability, and protection against damage caused by lightning strikes. It is compliant with the V.92 and V.44 standards, but can also communicate with older modems that use earlier communications standards.

Faster Negotiation:
Most modems call the same Internet service number every time. V.92 modems save the connection profile at that number to significantly reduce the negotiation and connection time.
Improved Data Compression
V.44 compression is designed for faster communication of the content found on the web.
Faster Upload Speeds
V.92 can send e-mail and attachments up to 40 percent faster than V.90 modems.
Modem-On-Hold
Allows you to answer an incoming call without losing an Internet connection on the same line. Modem-On-Hold requires Modem-On-Hold software, which is provided with the Model 3095 for Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and 7 operating systems. 1
On-Board Digital Signal Processor and Controller
Provides the highest level of system stability and compatibility for all desktop and notebook computers with USB ports, including Windows, Macintosh, and Linux computers.
Zoom Guard Lightning Protection
Provides the best protection in the industry against the leading cause of modem failure.
Standard Phone Cord
Uses a standard phone cord, unlike PC Card modems which use custom phone cords or an easily damaged pop-out phone line interface. The Model 3095F uses a highly reliable RJ-11 phone cord found worldwide and a solidly integrated jack.
Digital Voice Mail
Supports voice mail when used with Windows computers with sound capability.
Send and Receive Fax
Supports faxing directly from your computer when used with compatible software. Software is provided for Windows computers.
Multiple Languages Supported
Documentation and software are provided in English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Greek, French, Italian, Polish and Turkish.

Model 3095 V.92 USB Mini External Modem is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It simply works, simply Bought to replace an old Apple modem (which won't work with OS X 10.7), this is plug & play at its simplest. It is immediately recognized, so the only setup needed is to select it as the printer for faxing a file. It is small enough to easily be used traveling with a notebook.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for MacOSX Lion Works exactly as advertised and as it should. I had the Apple USB Modem which stopped being recognized since I upgraded to Lion. A shame! I still need a modem to access the Internet when I'm away from home. Ordered this one and works like a charm out of the box.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product even if a little tricky Purchased this modem since laptops that are a simple file cabinet and word processor no longer come equiped with one since the manufacturers thinks even hill and dale are aviable to wi-fi. The unit works very well and I am pleased with it. The only drawback is when I am in an urban area that has wi-fi the unit desires to pop-up for dialing instructions. Not much of a bother and I am sure there is a cure. BUT, I would purchase the same unit again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved me some $$ Older desktop computer took a dump and was about to buy a new one when I found this. Unfortunately I live where only dialup is available but I have a netbook for out and about. Picked this little modem up and it is working great with the netbook for the time being. Without a cd/dvd drive in the netbook I did have to use my other desktop and a thumb drive to get the driver on but works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs as it should I rarely have to fax, but when I do, I want to do it with my laptop. Some years ago I bought this product and was very satisfied with its performance. It worked well and is small enough to carry with my laptop. Unfortunately, it was stolen (along with other gear), and I was afraid it was no longer available. Well, I found it at B&H, ordered it, and have been using it since.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install Installed it on my old IMAC with OSX 10.5 and it was up and running in no time. The Zoom was listed in the drop down tab which made it simple. The Mac still tries to log onto the Ethernet, (which is not available) after start up. I need to change that but do not want the thing dialing automatically anyway.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from USB modem 3095 V.92 slow performance I give 3 stars only for the modem, since it is rather slow with my Mac Powerbook OSX and dialup connection. It is substantially slower than my old G4 computer with a build-in modem. The reasons for this are not known.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A Piece Of Junk I have spent several hours trying to get the Zoom 3095 to work. The drivers install OK...just get an error message saying the modem is not dialing out.
