The Paris 2 Distress Beacon from Morovision is a lightweight rugged infrared signal device developed as a more durable alternative to the popular MS-2000M Distress Marker Light. The beacon’s watertight design and 300 hours of continuous operation from two CR123A batteries make this beacon suited for distress signaling in hostile environments. Constructed from a solid block of aircraft-grade aluminum, the cylinder walls of the Paris 2 are more than 2.5mm thick, giving the beacon a robust feel and build-quality.
Once activated, visible indicator lights within the Paris 2 will temporarily flash allowing the operator to confirm that the beacon's infrared light is flashing, this feature is especially useful in situations where night vision equipment is inaccessible or inoperable. If the unit is turned Off and then back On, the unit will default to its IR signal mode, eliminating the risk of inadvertently transmitting a visible signal when covert operation is critical. The integrated shroud allows the operator to focus the beacon's signal in a specific direction, limiting unwanted emissions during operation.
