What is the correct procedure (settings/config etc)to use phantom power with the K6 module (the one with battery)? I have tried it with/without battery, switch in ON/OFF position. I cant seem to get this mic to use phantom (48V)
Asked by: brad
A battery is not needed for the phantom power to work. Something seems defective, either the K6, or the source. Have you tried other phantom power mics with the source, or have you tried using this mic with another phantom power source? Doing so will help identify where the defect is.

question

Can this mic be connected straight into a canon eos c100?
Asked by: Anonymous
No, you attach the Mic Capsule (ME67) to the Power Module (K6), and the K6 to the XLR inputs of the Handle Unit, the handle unit has a little cable attached that goes to the Canon C100. Keep in mind that since it is a camera and not an audio recording device, you might need the K6 RD (red dot) instead of the regular K6, the K6 RD is a low sensitivity version of the K6 for some cameras where you can't control how much volume enters into the camera. You can ask Sennheiser to convert you K6 to K6 RD but not the K6 RD back to K6, you would need to buy another one, you can have both since both work with the Sennheiser capsules line, and use the K6 RD only whenever you are using it straight into cameras, and the K6 with professional audio recording devices. Don't forget to mark which one is the Red Dot if you have both, because both look the same, you would need to test them again to find which one is what version.
