Wide-angle zoom designed for FX-format sensors, this 14-24mm lens can also be used with DX models where it provides a 21-36mm equivalent focal length range.

I have a nikon 24-120 lens that i like very much, would it be worth it to invest in the nikon 14-24? I dont do a great deal of wide angle photography but was wondering if I was missing much.
The AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8 would offer the wider angle which is suitable for those working in tighter spaces and the full stop increase over your current lens. While it was mentioned that you're not shooting a great deal of wide angle photos, it wouldn't hurt to have this lens in case the need ever came up.

The Nikon AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8G lens is fully compatible with any Nikon DSLR, and any SLR that allows the camera to control the aperture through the cameras body. That being said, this lens is compatible with the D7000.

Yes, this lens would be great for shooting panos and virtual tours. The optical quality is superb and will render excellent results. A fisheye lens is not desirable as it would create too much distortion.
