Nikon 26144B overview

  • 1Description

The Nikon Coolpix S230 Digital Camera provides images with up to 10.0 megapixels of resolution and incorporates a 3x Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens in a surprisingly slim camera body that is quality crafted in aluminum, and delivers high performance and ease-of-operation in a package that you can easily carry around with you at all times.

For incredibly sharp, blur-free images, Nikon's 4-way VR Image Stabilization technology utilizes sensor-shift Optical Image Stabilization, along with the camera's high sensitivity equivalent of ISO 2000, Motion Detection, and the exclusive Best Shot Selector (BSS), to ensure that your photos will always look great - regardless of lighting conditions or subject movement. And Nikon's Smart Portrait System ensures beautiful portrait and people shots by combining Nikon's innovative smile mode, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, D-Lighting, and Face Priority AF technologies. Furthermore, the S230 includes Nikon's Coolpix Software Suite for organizing, editing and sharing your photos.

The bright, high-resolution 3.0" touch panel LCD monitor provides an extremely intuitive means of controlling the camera settings. You can even use the touch panel display to control the cameras focus and utilize the Portrait One-Touch zoom feature. The Touch display also makes playback a fun and interactive activity by allowing you to scroll through and select images to display and edit, plus the paint function lets you personalize images with doodles and writing right on your images.

    Nikon 26144B reviews

Coolpix S230 Digital Camera (Plum) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from so easy to use my 5 yrs old can do it this camera was a birthday gift and is the perfect camera for me. i have kids am always trying to capture to priceless moments that go hand in hand with children. i have gotten tons of great shots of my son doing flips and dives into the pool. you get a lot of great detail in the picture too - right down to the drops of water. one of my favorite fetures - the camera knows when some one has blinked!!! it will ask you right away if you want to keep the picture. or delete it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Technology in a Little Package I was looking for a camera that I could stick in my pocket and take with me anywhere easily for casual day to day picture taking. I went with Nikon because of the name, the price, and the features the camera offered. The 3 touchscreen is neat and works well. The design and shape of the camera make it easy to carry in a pocket. Picture quality is average ( my 6MP has sharper more vivid images) for a 10MP camera. More light improves IQ and a steadier hand.FIrst shot is not quick, second shot is faster. I'm trying to like this camera. I do tend to be picky. It is not a bad choice but might consider other brands also.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would recommend this camera to friends I love this camera! I bought it in plum-awesome color! My first pictures weren't so great but once I learned how to use it they were. I've used it indoors and outside. I also took pictures at a softball game and I was very pleased with them. I like the size of the camera because it easily fits in my pocket to take anywhere. The best part is that you can write comments right on your photos.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great function, little less quality This Coolpix S230 has just right size, great design, big display, and easy-to-use function, but to me the photo quality is less than expectation, especially low light condition. Maybe because I used to the quality of DSLRs, but when I compare this to other compact cameras with 10 mega pixels, photo quality is there, just not overpass them, even the others are 2-3 years old. The touch screen function is really nice and intuitive. Easy to everyday use, especially for my wife to take a snap shot or short movies of my 5-year-old boy and will also be useful when my new boy is coming next month. Sum up, it is a good camera with 3 inch display in $200 range, and Yes I would recommend this to my friends.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what my wife ane i were looking for I use this camare to take pictures of my kids when we go on week-ends trips. it is verry compact and fitsjust about anywear and the picturs look good. I expected for this camare to take the pictures faster. Its too slow. When my kids are on some type of rides or just running oround i got to take the picture and the already have gone by me. When i order it it said point and shoot. other then that its a good product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cool to look at, easy to use The initial atttraction of this model was the touch screen and stylus write on mode which are extremely efficient and easy to use. Initial set up was easy as is using the camera as it is mostly self explanatory. The only downfall is photos taken at night where the lights tend to glare (even when in night mode). I would buy this camera again as it is small and hi tech.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Coolpix S230 Digital Camera (Jet Black) I use this camera as an everyday camera and at this time it is my only camera. So far I have not found any thing about the camera that I do not like. As I have stated above I can find nothing wrong with the camera. The operator gets a few things wrong once in a while bur that problem can not be blamed on the camera.
